How did you score Helenius vs. Chisora? (REWATCHING/RESCORING NOW)

    Round 12: 10-9 Helenius.

    Close round, best round of the fight. As Chisora was pushing Helenius back to the ropes, Helenius landed a SWEET, CLEAN 1-2 step-back counter. . CHisora ate it like a champ, but then Helenius got his guard up to catch Chisora's return fire. . . Then again, around :25 seconds, Helenius ROCKED Chisora, visibly hurting, and staggering him, pressing him back. . . Helenius landed that uppercut/hook combination once as well. . . Chizzy still applied more pressure, and was more aggressive, but Helenisu by far landed the cleaner shots, and the fact taht he staggered him, definitely gives him the round.

    So, that makes it 6-5-1 Chisora; or 116-115 Chisora.

    Helenius did better than people were saying at the time, as both guys determined early on that the best defense against the other's punches was their own face.

    I had Chisora 7-5, IIRC. I thought Chisora-Helenius was an entertaining HW war that doesn't get its just due, probably due to the outrage over the decision. It's a shame that the ending sours an excellent scrap like that.

    But it was clear Helenius ****ed his right arm up royally. . . He didn't throw it with nearly the same authority after the first round.

    I don't know, I thought they both had a pretty good, and tight high-guard. . .

    Neither really ate too many 100% clean shots. . .

    Helenius also, in the last few rounds, started ducking that looping overhand right by Chisora. . . And Chisora showed some decent bobbing, and weaving. . .

    But yeah, both guys are pretty stanionary, and for the most part, only know how to put the ear muffs on.

    Helenius was never visibly hurt by Chisora, although he got his head blasted back cleanly 2-3 times. . Whereas CHizzy was staggered, and visibly hurt in the first, and the twelfth rounds. . Helenius also landed more "clean" punches, but since it's scored orund by round, Chisora did JUST ENOUGH to take the decision.. Helenius was not very effective at all with his jab. . ANd you could tell his right hand was thrown less frequently, and with a lot less authority after the first round.


    But yes, DEFINITELY a pretty entertaining HW tear-up. . .

    Chisora later admitted that Helenius almost KO'd him in round one.

    If Robert hadn't ****ed up his shoulder so badly, I think Del Boy would have been in trouble.

    As it was, it was still a competitive fight.

    Well, I could see how rounds 3, and 9 could have gone to Helenius. . . They were VERY close rounds.

    Agree. . You could tell after the first Helenius didn't have near the same snap on that right hand. . .

    Props to both guys for fighting to the end. . . Chizzy really picked it up from his last fight agaisnt FUry, where he was a *****-titted slob. . .

    I agree that it may have been a different result if Helenius had a good right shoulder the full fight because it's a hell of a weapon for him and he was landing it even with the injury, but I had Chisora doing enough to edge it for me. It's been awhile since I've seen it, so I'll have to re-watch it to see if the defense was better than I'm giving 'em credit for.

    I'd love to see a rematch :thumbsup

    chisora by 4 rounds...helenius lack of decent jab lost him this fight..that coupled with his lack of footwork and boxing skills..no point relying on power and opponents gassing......

    I like Helenius but Chisora deserved the win as the Finn was injured and comfortably outpunched.
    It was a home decision but it was still a "robbery" that gave Chisora a world title shot payday. It's not like Lucas Mathysse getting robbed twice in a row and sent backwards. Chisora fought for the EBU after a legit one sided loss against Fury, was then victim of a "home decision" in Finland and fought for a world title.

    He didn't hurt Dereck at all and he lost 7 rounds at least with one even. Then Helenius claims an injury. Oh sure. Excuses. I think Helenius is a nice man and everything but he can't adapt to different fight situations. As soon as he was taken out of his comfort zone,he flopped and looked bad. The only reason Chisora fought Vitali was because Team Klitschko thought Dereck won rather handily over Robert Helenius. I think Helenius can still be good and still has time to learn.
