Khan by one point 114-113. I scored one round even, but put a mark next to it as Khan probably won the round, but I was feeling indecisive. Either way I had Khan winning.
I found it hard to give Khan more than six clear rounds. Including the knock down and the point deductions, I had him losing. I can see an argument for a 7-5 card for Khan, but his punches lacked the authority or Peterson's and he spent round after round literally running away. He could have scraped a draw, but a one point loss is hardly controversial.
It was close but Khans 1 or 2 kds would have made the clear difference if he hadn't got deducted 2 points. As it were, he did. I wonder what the cards would be if Khan had got another kd, I think he would have won. Strategically, it was even but would have edged Peterson had he started like that however kd's and deductions come into the equation. Ultimatley a rematch is needed so we can see who can execute again.
With deductions I had it as a draw, really can't see how he is claiming a massive injustice, seems the scoring on here is varied too, so a SD is hardly a robbery.
It is a styles fight where some people will think Peterson looks incredible and unstoppable and Khan is running and missing when he throws. Others will look at Peterson charging forward, Khan covering up but unleashing 7 or 8 punches when he does throw.
114-111 Khan. And this was with the point deductions. I've watched the fight numerous times and I just can't give Lamont more than 4 rounds.
That's a good point, Achilles. I've forgotten now and i didn't keep a scorecard, but the last 4 rounds is what decides the fight and it's kinda what you like as you said. The first 8 are VERY easy to score. Each man wins 4 CLEARLY. Khan. 1,2,5,6 Peterson. 3,4,7,8
