havent scored it yet, very close fight just from observation with lots of close rounds, wasnt upset with the decision. will review it today and actually score it
I've watched 2x now and I had it 7-5 for Loma. It was close, and I could maybe be convinced a draw, but I don't see how Haney won it. But wtf do I know. Great fight, I'd like a rematch myself. Also like to see some kinda certifications/reviews/age limits for judging.
Loma 8-4 or 7-5 but I have to watch it again. Judging is rigged. These judges know where their bread is buttered when they want their Vegas hotel rooms comped and their ritzy dinners and invites to balls. You don’t need money under the table to have the good life as a Vegas judge. The track record speaks for itself
Haney clearly won the 12th. There's no argument for Lomachenko winning the 12th. Had Lomachenko won the 12th it would have been a draw, but he lost it, and Haney won.
Exactly. Loma did a lot better than I expected, and the 11th round was amazing when he stunned Haney with that fantastic 1-2, but Lomachenko just didn't do enough to win enough rounds.
It's devastating to lose after giving such an inspiring effort. He wanted it so bad, but in the end just fell short. But you gotta respect Loma after going out there and putting on that kind of a performance.
I gave Loma Round 1 and 3. Rounds 7-9 I didn't really score too closely, I know they were very competitive. Round 10 was extremely close. Round 11 was clear for Lomachenko. Round 12 was clear for Haney. Haney's body punching was a big key to victory. No controversy, as in I fully expected Haney to get the decision after the 12 rounds, but anytime there's a close decision there's controversy. There were many rounds that Loma landed some good shots, but was still being hit too much, and the shots that Haney hit him with were easier to see than the shots that Loma landed. A lot of Loma's shots were rat a tat tat quick punches, and I think those confused the judges because if you count all of them as landing you could say he outlanded Haney, but the easier-to-see flush shots were landed by Haney in most rounds.
1 Loma 2 Haney 3 Loma 4 Haney 5 Haney 6 Haney 7 Haney 8 Loma 9 Haney 10 Loma 11 Loma 12 Haney And I scored 1st round for loma, which is a mistake. First round, I've rewatched it and it's Haney's. Judges' 115-113 is a perfectly fine result. And 116-112 is closer to reality than 114-114. The only robbery here is in lomachenko's nuthuggers' minds.
Probably if I went back and rewatched the first round I would score it for Haney, but watching it live I gave it to Loma, if I recall it was because he had a little flury towards the end of the round. And I was expecting Haney to come out and just jab Loma to death, but that didn't happen, Loma hung in there, blocked pretty well then had that flurry late to arguably edge it. I was rooting for Loma, and was inspired by his performance, but the sense was while watching it was, yeah this is close, Loma has a chance but then he just kept too many rounds close. The problem with Loma is that 1) he got hit flush too much 2) he didn't really load up on any punches. I kept thinking that a hard straight left hand would have been enough to win him a couple of those tight rounds.
This was a tough fight to score. I had Haney 7-5. At least to rounds could have been swing rounds. So if you have Loma 7-5, can't argue. You can even say draw and I couldn't argue. I know for sure, Tank and Shakur would take full of advantage of that straight left hand! Haney didn't do well defending that punch, and backing up in a straight line didn't help him. His best bet is to stay away from Tank and Shakur and move up.
Loma just doesn't load up enough. Many of the shots that got in, it's like he pulls back on the shot that's landing in order to land another one, rather than sitting on a shot and trying to cause damage. This leads to flashy combos some of the time, but in other situations his punches just aren't impactful enough to win him close rounds.
Something was off with Haney as well, he looked a lot more vulnerable than he looked against Kambosos. Part of that was how Loma fought, but Haney wasn't throwing the jab enough, it was like he was trying to time Loma with a staright right hand. Occasionally it landed, but the lower output allowed Loma to do his thing and keep rounds close. Also what was that mark on Haney's right shoulder? That looked like the marks Khan had on his back against Kell Brook. Did Haney get that suction therapy on his shoulder for some reason?
Like I said in another post I gave Haney the 12th which made it a draw. How did you score the 1st 3 rounds? I gave them to Loma.
