Think I had Morales up by a point, possibly two. He was putting on a clinic, even though he was smaller, old, and not really hurting Maidana. One guy had all the technique and experience, and the other guy had all of the physical tools. Great fight.
I had maidana winning 8 rounds. hbo did a poor job, maidana ****ed up morales for 2:40 seconds and morales lands a flurry that does nothing and it "steals" the round.
Yep, everyone fell for the romance of Morales doing well in that fight and not getting killed. maidana wasn't great that night but won 8 rounds.
That's not how I recall things. I remember Morales performing very well from rounds 3 through 10, but starting very poorly in the first 2 and fading very badly over the final 2. As an aside, watching the fight was like going through a time portal, listening to Ray Torres do the translation. Hell of a night for "El Terrible" to turn back the clock. :smoke
