I'd forgotten about the deductions, I just remembered having it seven rounds to five. Amends my score to 114–112 in favor of Castillo. My abiding memory of that one is Roger telling Floyd he needed to stand and deliver before he came out for the 11th, which resulted in maybe the best round of the fight.
Back when the referee's weren't afraid to actually do their work thoroughly & at least try to call it in the middle, As opposed to today where the Referee is usually helping one side over the other possibly due to the pressure of the promoter in hopes to get booked again for a big show, most recently being when the Ref tried to help Rayo out last weekend by giving him just a little more time to recover though that was not as blatant as many others.
I always preferred Roger over Floyd Sr especially during the fight in the Corner's as he seemed to know what & how to say what was needed, had better knowledge of what was needed in the fight while being short & direct with his instructions to Floyd.
Wasn't Floyd's shoulder pretty messed up, not sure if he got surgery for it?, if he did then it would have been before he had the rematch.
in no freking universe castillo won any of the first 5 rounds. In no freaking universe. This scorecard is pure nonsense. ok, I see, you are trolling. I cant blame you, tbh. This thread is the Groundhog Day, once and again and again....
Fair enough. The even score is just a stretch for me, feels too generous to Chino. He put forth a terrific effort, but I didn't feel he was effective to that extent. You and I see it a shade different in closeness, ultimately.
