Norton may well have been Ali's most difficult opponent.

Dedication is the word that comes to mind. These weren't exactly the most exciting series of fights. Good scoring though.

I had it very similar. Norton winning the first and third fights by a small margin and Ali just about doing enough for the draw in the second. Good scoring! Norton gave Ali fits.

Dont have exact cards or anything but....

1st fight - Norton by wide UD.
2nd fight - Ali by close UD 115-113
3rd fight - only seen highlights, Ken looked to have an edge tho Ali took that last rd from him just like he did in fight 2, he closed the show better.

Ps. I do remember Ali sweeping the 1st 5 rds in fight 2 before his legs slowed down, Kenny couldnt touch him when Ali was on those toes & IMO Ali was out of shape in fight 1 & badly declined in fight 3, fight 2 is as good as you could get both of them together because Ken was ready & trim for all 3 fights.
Ali won the fight were both were at their best together.

    :good

He sure did, the split decision was bull****, inexcusable by that judge, whoever he was.

I also thought the judge that gave Kenny a victory in fight 2 was off, not as delusional as the fight 1 judge but I thought the worst possible outcome should have been a draw as Ali won the 1st 5 rds & definitely won the 12th & nearly every other rd was nip & tuck except 7 or 8 (cant remember which one), that was a big Norton rd.

The third fight was totally robbery ... Norton won at least ten rounds and that is giving Ali every benefit of the doubt ,,,

I had Norton winning the first fight somewhat closely, but clearly, say 7 rounds to 5.

Second fight I thought was about a draw. Hard to separate them in that one.

Third fight I thought Norton won clearly, at least 9 rounds to 6, maybe 9-5-1 or even 10-5. Flagrant robbery IMO.

    Norton won 1 & 3, lost in #2.

Ali summed it up best when a 4th fight was proposed: "I am not going to fight that Turkey again".

Ali swept the first 5 rds in that 2nd fight, lost 1 rd big after that but not enough for a 10-8 but very clearly, had 5 very close rds that either man could argue & won the 12th rd big himself.

You`d have to give Kenny every razor thin rd to give him the draw IMO.

    Ali won this fight.

So, are you saying the a decision of 11-1 in Ali's favour could be justified?
