it was a close fight but there werent many close rounds

    7-5 ward 114-113 I could see 6-6. making it 114-113 kovalev I can't see 7-5 kovalev though

and 9-3 is a very bad score

I cant really see an argument that kovalev won 7 rounds. which 7 rounds? also no way did kovalev win more than 2 rounds of the last 6.

I scored it 7-5 Kovalev a 3 point win. Ward dominated the 2nd half of the fight and won 4 of the last 6 rounds(Kova won 5 of the 1st 6 rounds).

Fanbois aside I think it was a bit of a robbery given how close it was. Who was the champ before the fight??? Close round should (and usually do) go to the champ because you need to do more to take some one belts away.

It was a close fight no doubt and it could have gone either way but that way really should have been to the champ....

I agree with Harold Lederman's score, 116 - 111 Kovalev, Floyd Mayweather had Kovalev winning also, and he appears to be a racist! Roid Jones and Max Kellerman had Kovalev winning along with the vast majority of boxing fans, experts and boxing writers.................SOB lost!

Watching the fight live I didn't score it but I remember thinking Ward rebounded well but that Kova did enough to win the fight, when I sat back and actually scored the fight ended up with Ward winning by a round only seen it those two times but those were my impressions excited for an immediate rematch my the best man win.

Ward never dominated any part of the fight, he won 2 rounds clearly which were the 7th and 8th, Kov won 7 rounds clearly and the other 3 were close.

So many people throw around the term 'effective punching' and assume that it should only mean punches that have the greater physical affect. I take an 'effective punch' to mean a punch that allows a boxer to take the play away, to control the subsequent action. A lot of Ward's clean punches were effective. His body shots may not have sucked the wind out of Kovalev but they were sure calculating and purposeful. I don't have a problem with anyone who thinks Kovalev won, even clearly, but giving rounds to him because he pushed Ward back with his punches is bs to me.
