i just watched it and i had it a draw op i know, saying that it was draw could be a travesty as it was all over the boxing world that ayala won the rematch legit, but truth be told, i am a huge bones fan and i could have been biased with some of the scoring. round 1. bones round 2. ayala round 3. bones round 4. ayala round 5. bones round 6. ayala round 7. tie round 8. bones round 9. bones round 10. ayala round 11. ayala round 12. tie *if you are a fan of emanuel augustus then i suggest watching bones adams, both are immensely talentrd athletes that do all these cute moves, yet go through defense lapses and find ways to lose fights.
Used to like Bones..baddest white boy on the planet. I had that fight for Ayala..not by a hell of a lot but cant remember the exact score, Id have to watch it again. I remember the wide scores left me stewing a bit because it gave me the impression they were always going to rob Bones no matter what, like they did in the first fight. Though I dont recall thinking the 2nd fight was controversial, Paulie got it for me.
i cant argue, the first fight is up on youtube and the second is in the process by a generous uploader name bonesadams74:think i get frustrated with watching adams because to me he is not so much a "fighter" as he is a "gifted boxer" in all respect. i guess what i mean is that like roy jones, it seems that his first instinct is to avoid direct confrontation and elude a fight as to letting his hands go.
I thought Ayala won like 8-9 rounds. Surprised to see any dispute over it all of a sudden, so many years later. I thought Adams probably won the first fight, or at least should've got a draw. In the rematch, Ayala discouraged him from going inside and working on his body, and that was the difference IMO.
it must be weird to see this comming up after all these years, im actually a huge bones fan that never had a chance to see the fight untill now that its posted on youtube.
