On August 20th 2005 In Jin Chi doesn't suffer an injury and goes through with his fight with the young undefeated up and coming Rocky Juarez on his "coming out party"? Juarez never fights Soto and gets abused and goes on to become a bum who got more shots then Andrew Golota or would have beaten Chi(which style wise and age wise Chi was on the slide and was there to be took) and won a world title and become a major player at 126/130. Ifthat fight happened and he won would the rest of his career have turned out the way it did? Would being a world champion have given him that confidence he seemed to lack even before the Soto and fight and outside of the first Barerra fight and the last like 3 rounds of the Barrios fight seemed to be completely gone. He was a done fighter but still had all the tools to be a big player. Kid had a chin, a punch, threw nice tight shots.... His only problem was he just didn't seem to have the confidence to let his shot go. Watching him all I would do is scream for him to throw a ****ing punch because when he does he can land and when he lands it usually does damage. Would he have gone on to have a better career and be considered one of the better fighters of that time or was he never that good and his failure was inevitable?
He has a sparring partner mentality...that would've never changed. Plus Chi was a pretty good fighter.
I really dont know what the hell happened to rocky juarez. he could've been one of the most exciting fighters of this time. his mental inability is one of the most interesting cases of that issue in a long time when it comes to this sport. I dont think he would've went udefeated but he could've stalked and knocked out and/or beaten badly at least a few of the fighters he's lost to if his mind was right.
I don't know what to say about him. Disappointing to watch his career like that given he has talents, and was given lots of opportunities but just could not pull it off.
