I know they get a portion from each fight, but I mean what if he had nothing to do with Top Rank and was fighting under GBP? What fights would he have taken, would he be where he's at today, etc.
- probably a loss to Marquez in the second fight by neutral judges (neutral meaing both fighters are GBP, no reason to favor one over another) - probably Casamayor instead of Diaz in the LW division for the Lineal World Championship instead for a paper belt, possibly followed by the 3rd Marquez fight in my view favoring Pac at that weight - Hatton at 140 before De La Hoya, same results - Mosley instead of Cotto which is a lot tougher fight - Mayweather-Pacquiao made easily for March without the drama It took a month and a half of negotiations ultimately terminated by Bob Arum to make the Top Rank only multi-million guaranteed Dallas Cowboys Stadum fight instead, whereas Mayweather-Mosley was done in a few days. Do your math. In the end, Pac would've taken a bit less calculated risks possibly with another loss to Mosley, if not, still going down as the fighter of the decade, producing the same kind of excitement, PPV numbers and following.
I am not going to get into wins and losses especially with JMM cause at the time JMM was not a GBP fighter either. I will say other fights might have gotten made. People don't realize the politics in boxing and the fact that certain people just don't like eachother. Hmm hmm Arum and Haymon for example and Floyd and Arum. If Manny was a GBp fighter we would have easily gotten the Manny vs Floyd fight on March 13th. That is the one thing I know for sure.
