How difficult is the road towards the 2012 olympic boxing team?

    i guess they share alot of similarities.i dont know alot about muay thai,the thought of a knee to the face puts me off a bit.just take away the knees elbows and kicks then man.less to look out for.

    Yeah, I'm going to train hard man. I'm going to try and train six days a week. I'm 20 years old. So I can't be wasting any time.

    I don't want to be the one to burst anyone's bubble but someones got to say it: you people are ****ing insane if you are talking about making the olympic boxing team before you've even had your first fight. You don't even know if you're any good at boxing. We're talking about elite athletes here who dedicate every waking minute of their lives to the sport and are natural/gifted fighters/athletes. Making it onto the team means you are the best fighter at that weight in the country. As you can imagine that is a fairly competitive feat. Getting onto the olympic team means you're a reasonable prospect to win a world title when/if you turn pro. Maybe try winning a few fights first and if that goes well try winning some local, regional, state, and then national titles. That would be a good start. Good luck.

    Well I'm not trying to get into the Olympics. I was just wondering how long these guys have been training before having their first fight.
