Whatever haters think of Wlad Klitschko, I saw first-hand the steel in his spine. At every presser for Vitali, after Wlad's cave to Lamon Brewster, the level of venom directed at Wlad, 'n followed him into the street.

He was the butt of every joke, with the YouTube of his Brewster fold fodder for every hater.

Takes a tough man to endure that daily -- with constant YouTube reminders -- -- and do what he has since.

heck of a point jg. i've never even considered this. but ricky hatton comes to mind immediately. the way he was ko'ed by pac in itself is enough to crush any man's spirit, but to know that the entire world saw this from every possible camera angle in slow motion must be an inner devastation beyond description. almost enough of an embarrassment to keep you cooped up in your home for a few months.

i can imagine that a fighter of yesterday would be able to deal with it a bit better knowing that the only people who witnessed their embarrassment were those present at the arena.

maybe but it's more about the ko being in the ether. most peopel have seen it and will still talk about it.
