Do fighters get paid a set amount by the promoters or do they get a % of the PPVs and the gate, or what?

I'm wondering how much more profitable it is for PBF to be fighting guys like Pac and DLH rather than smaller names, because with the smaller names he can get a bigger share.

Its all based on the purse split agreement, the PPV percentage guarantee, and after all of that they have to pay, taxes, sanctioning fee's,promoter fee's,managerial fee's,trainer and corner people fee's ,then the rest is there's..haha

My question is what makes up the purse.

usually its the site or venue that puts up the purse........like how Dallas Stadium tried to put up 25mil for Floyd/Pac....so i am assuming it is who ever wants to host the event more and puts up the most.

depends whether you sign for don king.

withersppon got paid about $ 2,000,000 usa or £1,000,000 uk for his fight v bruno, by the time don king had done slicing up that money
tim witherspoon was repoted to have received just $35,000.

so when frank warren and promoters complain about no loyalty in the sport of boxing to there promoters , they should think how mauch money they make on the back of the fighters sacrafice/pain and hard toil.

if you take arum/king/warren/duva/ how many missed meals have they sacraficed in the last 20 years.

Well that is the risk the promoter take. If he signs a contract with the boxer saying he will certain amount, then he has to make sure to make enough money to pay everybody and then collects his earnings. Remember, not everybody is making millions. If you are fighting in some small place, not TV transmission, Not more than 2000 fans. Fighter will be lucky if they get 5,000 dollars.

Then, the ones making good money, need to make sure they are getting a fair share. Because the promoter is there to make money. The contract could include many little details like PPV, Tickets, Tshirts, etc.....
