How do fighters live with themselves cheating with PED's when their opponent is 100% clean?

They live with themselves by cashing the paycheck, if caught, uh, well it was tainted meat from Mexico that did it.

I am not expert but I think the amount of drugs that gets used is important here and generally. Everyone assumes that "everyone is doing" it but what they tend to mean is that everyone is maxing out drugs to the absolute limit, caning as many steroids and etc. into their systems as they can find, full time.

    But I don't think it's like that.

A guy tells himself - I couldn't train because I was injured. This will help me get over the injury and max out my recovery training. I'm not even really doing it in competition. I'll stop. He's probably ramming as much hgh as he can get in himself the ****.

And now they are a PED user, but in their head it's not all that. And maybe, controversial this, it really isn't all that. I bet Usyk hasn't used a lot, for example. Inoue too. But I think they've both used. Then there are other fights I prefer not to name who you just know are guzzling back all kinds of masking agents day and night because they live on the stuff

Because there isn't a relevant pro athlete on the planet who is clean.

No one cares. If they did they wouldn’t have done it to beggin with. Also money, life changing money , is a big factor.

Nonito donaire is on the record for being clean from his own admission. A rare breed. Others said "we can make you better" he said then show me: "then let me inject this stuff into you." No was the answer. I kind of get the feeling that Paulie Malignaggi used peds once, but that's just my opinion. Others just have physiques that look too good to be true. This isn't an eyeball test though, so I offer no insults based on aesthetics.

True, but the guilt goes away when they cash those big checks.

I'm starting to wonder how many fighters are clean these days and that you might be a fool going into a fight clean when you probably suspect your opponent is cheating.

    Win at all costs

Everyone can justify whatever it is they do, no matter how disgusting lowdown and grimey it is.

Example , bombing hospitals full of children and then blaming someone else for it *ahem IDF*

I dont think they have eniugh empathy to feel guilty. And if they did the money would wash that away and they would justify it.
Same way how drugdealers dont give a damn about addicts.

Their opponent is doing it as well.

How are they going to live with themselves losing because they didn’t take what the other guy was taking?

    It's not rocket science

    They idolize Roy

    They say Roy was Superman

    Roy was unbeatable

They say to themselves I wanna be like Roy

How can I be like Roy?

I'll do anything to be like Roy

Maybe I should do the juice like Roy?

Roy did it so it's OK, right?

Everyone loves Roy so they will love me too if I do the juice

OK, I'm gonna do the juice

    Just like Roy did

    Evil has won

    Thanks, Roy

    The end

I don't see why PEDS aren't frowned upon the same way loaded gloves/tampered gloves/bribing refs are. In each of those cases, the fighter has an advantage that can ruin the health/career of the opponent. PEDs can make you stronger, able to throw more punches per round, etc. You can even make the argument they're more dangerous than loaded gloves because they can literally raise a guy whose ceiling might have been B level and they become an A level fighter. You're preparing for what you think could be a relatively easy opponent and then all of a sudden you're dealing with someone throwing 80-100 punchers round confused because the footage of his previous fights didn't indicate that.

Bottom line, PEDs are illegal. It doesn't matter if some people get favoritism or manage to avoid being accused, they're illegal. They're also immoral and an unfair advantage. So if someone is willfully taking them, they're not completely evil, but they have morally corrupt tendencies. How do they live with it? The same way people justify shoplifting food because they're hungry or cheating on a test because they absolutely have to pass. Ends do not justify the means. At least with stealing food or cheating on a test you're not harming other people, PEDs can contribute to career ending beatdowns. And unlike food and education, boxing isn't something these guys HAVE to do. Nobody put guns to their head forcing them to become athletes and they made the DECISION to cheat.
