how do i make my sparring partners quit acting like wusses? I want my sparring mates to go hard on me and try to rock me but every time they hit me in my face they are all, "oh man im so sorry," or "oops my bad i didn't mean to hit you in the face hard." the only ones who don't act like wusses are my friends that joined this with me and they try to take my head off vice versa. how do i make my sparring mates not scared to nail me in the face?

Hit them pretty hard a few times first. Normally does the trick!

Maybe you suck and they're afraid of giving you brain damage? Just saying.

Do you understand what sparring is actually about? I don't see why you'd want someone to "rock" you in sparring...

Maybe you should stop having roid rage while they're trying to learn techniques and punching angles.

When you go too hard in sparring you don't learn anything new. All you learn is whether or not you can beat the other guy up.

Personally I prefer to learn. If it escalates it escalates but you shouldn't go into sparring with the mindset for a brawl, save it for a bout jackass.

to be fair he didnt say it was about him beating up sparring partners. he's saying how does he stop them 1 going to soft on him and 2 apologizing for hitting him in the face.
That is why i commented saying i dont think he is in a genuine boxing gym? iv never heard anyone in our gym apologize or reluctant to hit each other, that doesnt mean they are dick heads trying to destroy each other though and not learning anything!

at my gym there's a few of us apologise to each other

you know when you're sparring at like 70% power, then you see a gap and get your shot off as quickly as possible and end up landing harder than you intended, normally i'll just put my hand out or mouth sorry and then it's nothing

it's good, just lets the other guy know you're not trying to hurt him/bust him up and stops every spar escalating into a gym war.
