I respect Mayweather's skills but his actions outside the ring, he has lost me as a fan. I can deal with the hip hop persona even though the man is 34 years old, he just does it to sell tickets and it works very well for him, its kinda humorous at times-it makes 24/7 hilarious. But once you start slinging unfounded allegations at another fighter, making racist comments on the video, assaulting security guards, assaulting the mother of his children in front of his kids-enough becomes enough no matter what his skills are. maybe if he goes to prison he might learn more respect but I doubt it considering who is relatives are. Right now I don't care if he ever fights pacquiao or anyone else. If the man straightens up his life I would give him a second chance but I don't see that happening.
I'm one of the biggest critics of Manny and yes even resort to being a "*****" every now and then because of all the stupid non-boxing threads that appear in these forums. I don't care what Manny does outside the ring. Take that stuff to pac-nuthugger.com site. I am not blind. I can see everything Manny is doing. He's exciting and a likeable guy. However, he has become invincible as he has moved up in weight defying laws of physiology as well as boxing. I have made it known why I believe that is and I started suspecting it after the Diaz fight. If I didn't have that doubt in my mind I would certainly consider him not only the best boxer right now but probably since the 80s/90s and with more time can even surpass SRL, Whittaker, Duran, Chavez ... There's only one way to erase that doubt. Fight real contenders outside of Arum's stable (Mayweather, Khan) and take the test. I'll be happy to eat crow.
