People also hate Hatton because his fans thinks he's great and over rate him. Hatton never fought anybody till his 38th pro fight and his style of hitting and holding make for boring fights. Another reason is that Hatton been ducking Witter for a while now and really hasn't fought the best fighters in his division yet.

Hatton fought well in the Tszyu fight but he was old and not in his prime. Tszyu didn't fight for like 2 years before Hatton and he was also recovering from in injury before he fought Hatton. Even Hatton fans got to admit that Tszyu was not in his prime when he fought Hatton.

I think you guys must be a bunch of morons. serioustly now, your saying Hatton holds and hits and thats true,he pushes his opponents into his punches with his free hand in most of his fights(prime example VS Tszyu) he throws a ton of punches in EVERY fight, almost never takes a step back.

you guys are saying my comparison to Corrales-Castillo is the worst ever?

NO! you IDIOTS compairing Hattons style to Ruiz's is BY FAR the worst comarison I have EVER seen on this site. Hattons fights are Exciteing....are you all just wanting him to get knocked out and never got it untill Mayweather or what? cause your reasons look like a bunch of fanboys excuses for why you dislike a fighter you probably never saw fight untill he fought Tszyu.

I can take crap when I'm wrong but most of you guys are totaly unfair to Hatton and MOST English posters on this site.

from what I've observed in the last few weeks most English fans on here just want to have conversations about boxing and YOU idiotic A-holes just keep belittleing whoever they like.

if its Hatton he holds too much, if its Joe-C he slaps too much.

Hattons an exciteing fighter,he always puts on a good show, and so far no one has said anything even close to reasonable as to why they dislike Hatton.

SUPRISE SUPRISE all you are doing is attacking me because I made a comparison to a great fight, but no one says a dang thing to the idiots comparing him to Ruiz.

 thats ESB for ya. big enough it COULD be a great site, but it just never seems to have enough equality or partisinism to really be what it should be:bart

I'm glad Hatton got his face planted into that turnbuckle. Now he can go back to fighting set-ups in England instead of parading around trying to fool people into believing that he's an elite fighter.

like Muassa, the one who demolished the highly touted Vivian Harris. Come one man, do some rabid Hatton fans overate him? of course. But he is one of the best JWW's of his generation.

Because he was carefully brought along and avoided most any top opposition until Tszyu, good win, but then he followed up by avoiding Witter to this day. Credit for jumping to Welter, but after an unimpressive showing vs. the very average Luis Collazo, he moved back down to fight who? A shot Castillo, fine. He has no excuse for avoiding top opposition, because anybody would want to fight Hatton because he's very beatable and provides a payday at any point, unlike his countryman Joe Calzaghe.

Then of course as he's steadily declining, let's do a big cash out vs. Mayweather in a fight he has no chance against. He got dealt with like any prime elite fighter would deal with him.

Still avoiding Witter, was wrongfully overrated for a LONG time despite having massive funding and a fanbase from the start just for being a fake Manchester boy.

On top of it, his style is nearly a rule violation in it's whole, painful to watch and he makes good matches go sour fast.

I personally can't stand him and jumped in joy when Joy Boy starched him.:happy

Witter is a runner, no one wants to see him run in reverse for 12 boring rounds.

It's called an exaggeration. People say things like it's "the worst comparison ever" to make a point of how ridiculous it is. It is a ridiculous and stupid comparison nonetheless.

Hatton USED to be an exciting fighter. The guy who destroyed guys like Pedersen, Quiros, Pendelton, etc...was exciting.

The guy of the last 2-3 years who wrestles and clinches repeatedly is NOT.

You think like this because you're a Hatton fan. If you just look at Hatton and look at his positives and negatives of Hatton you would see that he is really overrated. Right now at this point he's a really good champion and if he fights Maignaggi and Witter and beats them and prove he is the best Junior Welterweight in the world more people will like him.
