How do people hate Ricky Hatton?

First off, he fought Maussa after Tszyu. I asked who he beat before Tszyu. After Ricky beat Tszyu, the other title holders were Maussa, Mayweather, and Cotto. Mayweather was interested in fighting him and he chose Maussa. Maussa was a 1 hit wonder, who beat an overrated Harris. Maussa was knocked the **** out against a green Cotto before he fought Hatton, and hasn't done anything since the his win over Harris. Maussa isn't even on Baldo's level(another guy who unexpectedly won a title against a highly touted fighter). Maussa is a joke who got lucky, plain and simple.

 

I hate him by gritting my teeth and scowling at the telly.
I like Hatton myself but I agree with most of the points here, such as wrestling and he should get inside using the jab. All in all every fighter will have his haters. Just get on with it

Well like I said . . . diversity . . . it may have something to do with him being a Brit, it may have something to do with his hold and punch fighting style or it may simply boil down to his fans being braggarts and arrogant in this forum.

 

Well since Floyd is in the WWE now, Hatton may have a realistic chance at beating him in a rematch if Hatton joins the WWE too.

 

I don't hate him but I dont like his style.A lot of people say Floyd style is boring but I think he is much more entertaining than Ricky Hatton.

 

Skin Color....Nationality....LOVE for other fighters near/in his division. Take your pick.

 

I like Hatton, like his style, he's a fun fighter to watch. He also seems like one cool dude, so I dunno what everyones problem is.

A LOT of fighters never get the big names early on in their careers. Do you hate them too? :roll:

I agree with you..I like hatton's style attitude..his fights are generally entertaining. But we can probably all be accused of being to hard and under rating some boxer in one shape or form. Usually when someone criticizes our guy the reponse is to do the same to theirs or some one elses fav. I like Hatton, and rate him highly at his weight..so I don't care what others think, and don't waste to much energy in trying to convince them other wise..a futile task, by the way! peace

To be perfectly honest, I don't hate Ricky. The thread starter needed to be put in check though. I do however believe that Ricky is an overrated fighter who is the product of great promotion and careful match making.
