what's that gotta do with anything?

Garcia was a nobody going into the Campbell fight. Holt was a huge step up also. Morales was the champ with a rematch clause.

How many cards has he headlined in the US? Has he ever been in a main event on PPV? Zab has, JMM has and Khan has. The bottom line is that there are other fights out there to be made that will make Garcia more money and he'll be taking less of a risk than he would be against Matthysse.

Funny how a "Brit" thinks he's so in touch with the US boxing climate that he knows more than someone who may have first hand experience.

I didn't notice his location. Yeah, that explains it.

Lucas would stretch Garcia if they fought.

He has fought a heavy hitter in Holt, a boxer and somewhat puncher in Khan, and a legend in Morales. He has a feel now on how to fight those types of fighters. What he needs now is a ceribrial master /boxer/puncher to complete his rounding out. The fighter for that is JMM. If he gets past that, then he would be truly ready to make his mark at 140 by fighting guys like Lucas, Rios, Lopez, and Broner. All those fights would be tremendous.:bbb

So you think he'll make more against Zab than he would against Matthyse? I doubt that.

I never realised the guy was a birt. I don't have first hand experience though, i'm just asking the brit to back up his statement.

Zab has a big following in Brooklyn. They'd sell that arena out real quick. Matthysse doesn't have a big following anywhere in the US.

how do you know he's got no following?

the whole debate is moot anyways, he's the mandatory so if he enforces the fight and danny ducks him, then he'll be promoted to full champ so either way he'll get his shot at the belt.

I didn't say he's got no following. I said he doesn't have a big following anywhere in the US (certainly not like Zab has in Brooklyn). Do you have any evidence to suggest otherwise? :think

best fight to be made at 140 right now!

as close to 50-50 as it gets. that vid sounded like danny was more than willing to face him and started the **** talk towards Matthysse already, doesn't sound like he's ducking at all.

Matthysse is the only fight for him at 140 that means anything right now. Rios would be a pointless slaughter by Garcia over a dude who hasn't done **** but beat one barely level fighter with a dodgy stoppage in a fight he was losing after getting whupped 11-1 by Abril in the previous fight..... so for me it's just Matthysse i give a **** about him facing at 140.

only way it'll be ok if he doesn't fight Matthysse is if he gets a call for a big fight vs the likes of Bradley, JMM, Pac, Floyd....actually i'll understand if he fights Rios even though I think Rios is the most overated fighter on earth cause he brings a high reward/low risk factor kinda like Khan.

Danny is talking like Donaire right now. Signs of duck indeed but i have no problem for taking a couple of money fights before fighting Lucas since just got 7 figure salary for the first time of his life.
