How do the English/Irish view a guy like Fury (Irish blood)?

I’m not a fan, not because of his Irish roots but his abhorrent views on particular subjects.

The media training Queensbury provided him with has done wonders, but some of us are less gullible than others.

 

I don’t think many if anyone who likes Fury or Boxing have even thought about it and couldn’t care less!!

Me personally as a boxing fan is not overly fussed about nationality or that patriotic when it comes to fighters , only time I come close to being bothered about the fighter being from my country is when are American friends are ramming it down are throats on here and making it a contest more about which country’s better etc etc rather than the fighters themselves!

I have noticed Americans get very sensitive about certain fighters from there country just because of there nationality !

 

Fair enough, in my experience there's definitely discrimination about travellers in the UK. Maybe not particularly overt, but it's definitely still there.

I had problems with some of his views mate. But I don't think he's a bad person, it's just a result of his fundamental Christian upbringing.

 

The travellers certainly have not helped their cause over the years with behaviour falling well below that expected from people part of a civilised society. Not all but there is a significant element - yes there are similar people within non travellers as well.

 

@Patter983 I'm similar. Nationality doesn't matter to me. APART from always rooting against the Xenophobic Americans!

 

You do find it happens quite often, people with low intelligence and/or no real education use religion as a crutch to get through life, so that they don’t have to form their own opinions about a lot of things.

Yeah I think that is a valid point, but was confused that Mitch felt that "Travellers aren't disliked in England as some would portray either" when that's obviously not true.
