They don't start till April. Get a coach who knows this stuff, dude. It's a tournament you have to progress through, and you have to have a minimum of 5 bouts to enter the Open Class Golden Gloves. It starts at the LBC level, and if you win your LBC you progress to Regional Golden Gloves-win Regionals and you have a berth in National Golden Gloves, which this year will be in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

The real Golden Gloves doesn't have a sub novice division. Seriously, join a gym and get a coach. The only kind that progresses to National GG is Open class.

Depends what state your in... My state is pagoldengloves.com... It has contact info in it. Usually, the best young boxers in gyms represent their gyms.:good

If they have a sub novice division; it'll basically be the same as a match bout. It doesn't progress beyond the region at least and it might not even be a progressing tournament format. You might as well go ahead and get fights before then as well; because Golden Gloves isn't until April and if you want a shot at going to Nationals, the real Golden Gloves, you need to have a certain number of fights.

    1 - Ask your coach
2 - If he doesn't know, then get a new coach

Also if you haven't competed yet. I really recommend not entering the Golden Gloves. Talk to your coach and try and have a few unofficial fights or local official fights to get some ring experience. Then maybe think about GG next year.

ye but sub novice is sub novice, and if i were to have some local official fights it gonna be sub novice obviously so i might as well do the golden gloves sub novice.

You should just take any fight that you can get at this point. The only thing you should really worry about is being matched up with someone of similar experience level.
