These criminals are getting away with it. This is 3 weeks in a row I have witness the winner get robbed. By these filthy scums. Any ideas how to end it?
It’s impossible! Even the days of Rocky Marciano boxing has been crooked one way or another Refs, gloves, peds, judges, blantant dives etc. It’s impossible in my mind to clean every intangible up. Someone will always need £££££
A shame only Senator John McCain tried to reel in some of the corruption. Regardless of his policies, he was our only ally that could have made an impact on cleaning up a little bit.
Regulation with balls. Judges that rob guys need to get more scrutiny and the consequences need to have real teeth. As long as nobody cares and they can get away with it nothing will change. You start sending guys to prison and they'll straighten up a bit. Also, we need a rating system for judges the same as we have for fighters; so we can analyze their ability to judge the sport. Right now, the guys who get the big fights in Vegas are just the friends of other officials. We need a shift away from cronyism to meritocracy. There are places like Eye On The Ring where fans can submit their own scorecards. Perhaps, if these sites were more popular we could create a large database and weigh the consensus fans' scorecards against a judge's career of scorecards to rate their accuracy. They have boxrec pages with the fights they scored just like the fighters. We might also bring in other tools like compubox since it's usually a fairer scorer than the official judges, with a less complex more straight forward method.
Sit around and post on forums as if anyone gives a **** what we think. I'd say that's probably our best path forward
Promoters have to much Power time to take control back...the sad thing no matter how Big the Robbery You could have %90 of real Boxing Fan's screaming that fact and wanting something to change...then there is the other %10 who scream Great decision exactly how I seen it...now I don't know what there agenda is is it the fact they are not Boxing Fan's at all or just plain stupid...they are the problem with Boxing at the moment they continually reward Mediocrity and Corruption...My Dad would say Years ago never underestimate the Idiot Factor and the Consequences these idiots can cause.!!!!
Train the new judges, the instructors would be reputable referees. Do not allow the promoters or camps to select the referee and judges, import the judges from other countries. Do not allow the promoters to fraternize with the fight officials. Other venues should be used for the big matches, example, Atlantic City, Madison Square Garden, and various countries, too many Las Vegas matches. One boxing organization should have jurisdiction over all the matches, anyone found in corruption practices will be banned for life and could face prison sentences. Any fighter found to have consumed illegal substances will face a mandatory 3 year suspension. And no funny business about catch weights, or re hydration practices, this will no longer be standard practice. All mandatory fights shall and will be honored, or else that champion will be immediately stripped of their respective belts.
Needs to be more pressure from fans, because that is all we can do. Social media is our friend, crooked judges need to be hounded forever. Promoters need to be reminded their fighter lost every time that fighter is promoting their next fight. Never take robbery’s as loses, the true winner always win regardless what the records say. Governing bodies for robbery fights also must be hounded forever.
Only way it changes is if the biggest promoters, the biggest state and national committies and the alphabet organisations want it to end. And it really don't seems like they want that, because it's in their financial interest to keep things the way they are. If you look back at fights from the 60's, 70's, 80's and so on, you see that it isn't a thing from the last couple of decades. It has been that way as long as boxing stopped having to end on a KO. And public shaming on websites, social media and such doesn't seem to work either, because at the end the robbery results are the ones accepted by all of them, even if 85 to 90% saw the fight going the other way.
What fans of the sport could do as a start is stop calling every decision a robbery. If we do that. Maybe the bad decisions will stick out like sore thumbs, and get all of the attention
