How Do Wide Hips Apply to Power or Speed?

    To clarify, I mean large hip bones rather than skinny fat love handles

    Probably detrimental to both as you’re creating a delay that has no benefit to the start or the ending of the movement. The midsection is for transferring power through resisting movement rather than creating movement. Wider hips mean the punch is slower, and velocity is the major factor in power (force times velocity).
    Could be a factor in why females don’t punch hard, and why men have narrow hips and broad shoulders.
