As a Brit the original post makes me shake my head. Personally I'd like more of our fighters to go over, and more Americans/US Based fighters come over here. In recent years we have proved our love for the sport with huge numbers of travelling fans and typically British atmosphere that is brought to the fights. And also the huge audiences here in the UK with recent fights at Football stadiums, and possibly soon a heavyweight fight too in Haye vs Wlad. Personally I think that the cautious match making of Britain's premier promoter, Frank Warren does not help as he has held a relative monopoly on the top British fighters over the last decade.

Going back to the original post, I wouldn't say there is any 'invading' going on from UK fighters as such, but without doubt some our fighters have made a firm impression in the US and seem to be getting some good recognition.

american fighters never come to britain to try and rule our guys .the brits always have to go over there.
with the exception of lacy of course who thought our guy calz was over the hill and he was going to take an easy belt in coming over here.that was a big mistake but give credit where it is due he had the balls to come over and try which is more than the other american boxers can say.
they just sit on the belts they have floating around over there and dont bother to go for other champs belts abroad.

I don't care where the boxer comes from, if he's got an exciting style or is technically great. Then he gets my vote. Last time I checked this forum was about boxing not racial prejudices.

That is not called invasion, you stupid *****!!! Brits fighters go to america in search of money and fame coz all big fights are in America..These doesn't only apply to Brits but also to some other nationalities, puerto ricans, mexicans, asian fighters, from europe and S.africa....If they fight only in UK, they're nobodies,no one outside from UK will ever know them....And they don't necessarily fight americans in US, just any fighter that will boost them up and get recognition..

It's all about the money. If the money was consistently better over there then our guys would all be fighting over there.

Big opportunities are in the US, and almost all of the best fighters and best fights are held in US....If they just stay in their homeplace, the opportunity to get big fights may not come....If Joe Calzaghe, Lenox Lewis, Manny Pacquiao, Felix TRinidad, JMM and etc, didn't go to US, would they be that rich or recognized as they are now? I don't think so..
