Yeah Luke Thomas is definitely 1 of the better mma journos and worth following for those looking for more in depth strategy discussions and other topics many in the MMA media don't discuss enough like fighter pay etc.

Khabib is a totally different animal at the top of his game,with an ever improving stand up game that helped fill a few little holes but I still believe he has beaten up on low-mediocre level fighters throughout the majority of his career and there remains questions about him that won't be answered until he beats fighters other top fighters at there peak like TFerg,who brings an intensity and pace he has never had to deal with.

Obviously styles make fights,especially in MMA and there is at least a few guys like those mentioned who each offer a different challenge,
capable of testing and taking Khabib into deeper waters he hasn't been or needed to go

I know what you mean about standard of competition but he has fought all comers so it’s not like he’s been avoiding anyone.Course you’re right,after he’s fought T Ferguson we will be able to judge him against the entire division- kinda like GSP was.

As a champion you should defend against the top contender in the weight class at least every 6 months. You should never refuse to fight the legit top contender/who the ufc enforces you to defend against. If you don't defend regularly and start getting a princess mentality you should be rightfully stripped.

That’s how Conor became a joke and lost his respect.Dana White basically handed him two belts and he immediately went on a sabbatical.
Always liked the Diaz brothers but those two are murder for it,never know if it’s Dana telling the truth or the fighters.
I’m kinda of expecting Khabib v Ferguson to fall apart again and you know who’s lined up should it fail don’t you?.........that’s right Conor bloody McGregor.

He did go through a period of missing weight actually.Khabib is a big guy and spars with guys much bigger so he could move up no problems imo.

THAT is the biggest factor of the Tony fight, Tony is not going to take any back steps to avoid the TD.

I noticed this too whenever Khabib's opponent(conor fight) had their back to the cage. , usually within 3 feet, he would shoot and press them against the cage. If they keep the fight in the middle and circle out , I can see him being out worked.

Yeah, he's very reliant on the cage for his TDs, not to say he can't get them in the middle but his success rate there isn't high.
