When you watch him tie up with Tito or Evans and throw them around, shrug them off etc, thats when he looks unbeatable imo.

Yeah, its the way he does what he does. He does things so naturally and makes it look easy. What was interesting is that if you notice the warm up differences between the fighters. Rashad was warming up maybe 1hr before hand, seemed more warmed up and intense walking into the ring, while Machida was so relaxed and even looked cold (no sweat) up to the point that they touched gloves.

The man is so ahead, Lyoto, Anderson and JDS are probably laughing at how behind the rest of MMA is to them.

Like I said, the man to beat him at 205 is just probably starting to train. A Jon Jones, if he fulfills his promise 5 years from now can compete with him. An bonafide young Olympic champ like an Ishii certaily is a candidate in the near future.

The gap is so wide, him losing is unthinkable

It's interesting that you mention Jon Jones (btw didn't he have a fight tonight?) because he's just as unpredictable with his strikes as Lyto is but with the added bonus of having a massive height and reach advantage, in an ideal world Jon would just pick Lyto off from the outside and frustrate him until he feels compelled to engage, once Lyto comes forward Jon could possibly take it to the ground where he'd possibly have an advantage with his wrestling background, the way Jon is developing i can see this fight happening within the a year and a half or so.

Back on topic and what can you say about Machida? he was on top form tonight but to be honest basic fighters like Rashad don't have a prayer against the likes of Lyto, the only man i think could beat Machida is Anderson because Lyto likes to keep things standing and i honestly don't believe anyone can live with Silva in that department, Anderson would hit him from angles he's never seen before, it's a pity it's not likely to happen though as they are good friends and train together, but can anyone imagine what their sparring sessions must be like? my word i'd pay to see that :D .

lmao. You are a joke now. First you said chuck would beat rampage, then you said chuck would beat evans, then you said evans would beat machida. what kind of false mma prediction are you going to come up with now?

You would need a world class kickboxer to beat Machida, and there is no one with world class muay thai in mma

JDS = Junior Dos Santos?

Yeah, Jones has a lot of potential and could pose problems if they meet in the future. Cane is another, but I want to see him in with a top 205 after a fight or 2 so we can see how he does. A few people in the 98 thread mentioned Shogun. I read a interview he did recently saying he is friends with Machida but he would be willing to fight him if he had to. Ideally, it would make sense to have Shogun vs Rampage and the winner fight Machida. If that happens it would leave Machida on the sidelines without an opponent, so it looks like Rampage will get the next shot and Shogun will fight someone else.
