There is no denying the guy is a exciting addition to the HW division, but saying he is laughing at how far the rest of MMA is behind (and putting him in the same group as Machida and Anderson) is a bit too much considering he still has a lot to prove.
He is not invincible but he is bloody good. Firstly his chin is up in the air and someone has to clock that eventually. He also pulls back so someone has to be aggressive enough to go for it. Evans managed to counter once with some nice right hands but you need more than that. Rampage might be the man for the job.
I think the octagon helps his defense immensely. It is perfect for his defensive movement. He'll be much more vulnerable inside a boxing ring. The angles will make it easier for him to get cornered and get trapped. Even if he has his chin up and exposed, the octagon's so wide open and his distance and posture's so far away from the "strike zone" that it doesnt matter so much. The only way he gets hit is off an opponent's counter on the inside, if Machida gets too excited and stays too long striking inside the pocket.
cant see any 205ers around beating him. if this was pride he might come up against a huge HW GnP wrestler in a novelty fight or in an open weight tourney, then he'd be in trouble.
