see. the problem with posters like you is that you refuse to acknowledge wlad has made improvements since those losses. Unlike most champions, he has gotten better with age through experience and better training.

Examples include pacing, conditioning, ring generalship, footwork, increase usage of jab, confidence. If you compare him against Brewster the first time, TOS and today, the differences are quite noticeable.

 I think both Brewster and Peter will sadly have brain damage because it, Buddy knew that coming into the second Brewster/Wlad fight, thats why he pulled the plug when he did, that and Brewster didn't even appear to be really trying, the magic wasn't there for him that night.

Stamina will no longer be a problem for Wlad as long as he dictates the pace and his oppenent gives little to no resistence. Wlad will have stamina problems if his oppenent is constantly on the attack and causing him to panic, I just dont know if there is any heavyweights out there that can do that right now.

Sure he's made improvements, but he also said that the only man in history that could beat Wlad is Lewis.

That's ridiculous given Wlad's shortcoming in his offense, (his lack of an inside game), and his biggest liability, his CHIN, which has been exposed many times.

People are hard on Manny Steward but you have to give him credit he fixed Wlad's stamina problem. He can go 12 now with no issues. Another thing is Steward is like 24-3 in Heavyweight Title fights as a trainer. That is about as good as it gets.

Do what Corrie Sanders did (with his speed and power).

I respect you too and I don't really want to see Povetkin beat Wladimir but I do believe he has what it takes to make it a most entertaining contest. Look, unlike Wladimir's last opponents in guys like Chagaev, Ibragimov, Tony T and Hasim Rahman, Alexander Povetkin really gets in offensive and punches hard and with great discipline. I knew Povetkin lost a lil bit of confidence the way he took counters from Chambers but he should consider himself a top dog the way Chambers beat both Peter and Dimitrenko... Happens that most of the game is mental and until we get to find out if he has a chin to absorb those stiff jabs and right smashers, he has the tools to make Wladimir aware of what's coming at him... No, I really feel that Povetkin can travel the distance unless he gets cut cause I feel that's really his biggest problem - takes razor shots around the eyes and his skin can open gashes.

yeah but im talking about bringing up these losses as a basis for losing today.

ie "If Purrity could beat him, then X will easily"

he's just not the same fighter. he isn't as tv friendly but a far more difficult opponent to beat.

Wlad still has yet to be KOed twice by one punch like Lewis was. I am not saying his Chin is good or bad but he has not been knocked cold like Lewis was and that was against two very average American Heavyweights.

Not an expert, but I think a fighter who would bring to the ring power + speed + explosiveness + durable chin + defensive skills + great shape and stamina + a lot of ring movement and footwork, could do it.

Problem is all of the top HWs out there are missing at least a couple of these atributes.

    False.

If you take him in deep waters and actually do something, rough him up he will tire even if not hit.

    He was winded with Thompson.

but why are povetkin's people bringing in Atlas? seems like a panic move imo. The problem for povetkin is his lack of footspeed and defense. He can't utilize his combination punching if he can't get inside. Wlad is quicker on his feet and a lot stronger. It's going to very difficult for Povetkin to get set. Meanwhile, his defense is more compatable to Sam Peter than Mike Tyson.

Why would I want to visit that crappy thread? Tucker was garbage in a garbage era. His resume sucks. His best win going into the Tyson fight was Douglas who was kicking his ass before the stoppage. He did not fight anybody so of course he was undefeated going into that fight.

Yeah and knocked his ass out in the 11th. Then, when he was in 'deep waters' against Peter, he hit him with a short left hook in the 12th round that nearly took his head off and Peter pressured the whole fight.

So what if he gets tired. He's proven he can fight effectively while tired.

Fighters with bad stamina don't KO fighters in the 11th round.
