If the Tyson from the Spinks and Holmes fights could take the shots he needs to get inside I'd pick him. Problem is we'll never know if he could. Otherwise in my opinion a heavyweight with the style of Rios.
Some ideas: tall fighter that works from a jab, has some power and has a high ring IQ (kinda like Lennox Lewis) Wlad best weapon is his jab one way to get past a jab is very good head movement and pressure, power and speed could score you points too (kinda like Mike Tyson) Another way of possibly getting around it is a combination of speed defense and height, you could try to block and/or counter his jab and try to get off before him but it will be tough to do that for 12 full rounds especially if you do not have power. As you can see he is a very difficult fighter to beat and would be a problem in any era, you almost need a special fighter to beat him.
:deal Exactly . I dont think any convential fighter in history beats him except maybe LL . And thats because he could fight this way when needed . But I think SANDERS based on style always beats him and guys like the wild swinging MAX BAER or SHAVERS could make VLAD very uncomfortable . A guy like the CLUBBING FORMAN wouldnt stand a chance .
Many of the fighters Wlad has fought have the physical attributes to beat him. The problem is the lack of skill and the lack of a strong mentality. He could fight someone better than he is, but if the opponent is scared of fighting, he's lost before he steps into the ring. Thompson, Mormeck, Haye, Chambers, Chagaev, Rahman and Ibragimov all came to lose. There's no way anyone is going to beat Wlad if they are just turning up for a payday. To his credit, Wach actually tried to win. However, he, unlike some other opponents, lacks the ability and physical attributes to win. The last time Wlad fought a mentally strong, confident opponent who had the physical attributes to beat him, he was knocked down 3 times against Peter the first time. That's why the Povetkin fight is pointless. Povetkin is scared of Wlad and regardless of his ability, he's going to turn up having already accepted defeated.
good chin. good punch. no fear...you need to get in close on wlad. but to do that you need to take a punch. once youre in. just go wild...something like a sam peter whos a bit skinnier and faster...
Correct. Also a granite chin is needed, because in order to land big shots on Wlad one has to be able to absorb a ton of punishment. Both Purrity and Brewster took gigantic punches before they were able to unload their own bombs.
ATG?? My god Wach sucked and WLad could not stop him. The way to beat wlad is to hit him. Wach is no where near as good as Price. Price has speed and power. **** Wlad got hit by two weak shots the entire fight and his face was bleeding. I think Wlad is losing punching power. Real boxing fans can see that Wlad is taking easy fights. Price has more talent than WLad.
