So many discussions we have inevitably quote what one person says, usually to validate their point. With social media and the internet though you can now almost always find contradictory statements made by a fighter or his team. A prime example is Richard Schaeffer who was CERTAIN that there was no rematch clause for Maidana, only to backtrack and say he misspoke. The only thing I can do is apply basic logic... What is more likely, that Richard, who set up the fight forgot that Broner...one of the sports supposed superstars had a rematch clause, or that it was made up because Broner wasn't supposed to lose. When I also factor in that the fight was in Texas and Cole was the ref..I draw my own conclusions. Am I right? Unlikely we can ever prove anything. How do you choose what to believe in boxing (in terms of what someone says)
I don't believe anyone, I just watch the fights. Big business is like politics, they lie all the time.
you know people say anything in order to further their own course. if you look carefully enough, you'll be able to find the truth amongst all the bull****.
Exactly. People who hang on these people's every words are idiotic. Unless a fight is signed I try not to listen to the rumors. No point.
Broner was so over-confident that he would easily beat Maidana that he probably left out a rematch clause.....................
