Is there a way to strenghthen the body too bodyshots, im tall and skynny and im very prone to get damaged by body shots( as i was yesterday in training got droppped twice), i try and work as hard as i can on my defence but its very hard to protect your body knowing very well that bodyshots are the key too unlocking the guard from the head...So should i aim to put some weight on around my ribs? or is there a way to create muscles around the ribs( probably not...)I mean the only way i can see that not happening anymore is just to move as much as possible and basicaly run and jab and use my range...

strengthen your ribs and obliques(lots of people forget this) work in excercises to strengthen your serratus anterior http://www.myfit.ca/exercisedatabase/search.asp?muscle=Serratus%20Anterior for example. this for now, more when i wake up later.

You will eventually grow used to it, just don't forget to develop a proper abs routine and don't forget about the medicine ball drops, which I find decisively helpful

what they do at my boxing club is -

-split up the group in two

-one half backs to the wall, other half facing them

-for one minute the guys against the wall are punched in the midrift

-30 secs recovery and the punchers move along to the next person

-this continues until every guy has been punched by all of the punchers and then the roles are reversed

Yes, this is how I do it too. Medicine ball works a treat.

Stick your elbows in his fists as he throws them, that will discourage him from throwing them :yep

And, brace for impact. Breath out when it connects.

The elbow thing is a good point, try to catch them on the inner forearm, that really hurts

Indeed. An elbow to the inner wrist can end a body attack.

The medicine ball gets you used to taking body shots. Your ab muscles will develop a natural responsive flex to getting hit. Obviously sit-ups, crunches and other ab exercises will harden your abs.

Best thing you can do is to never blow off you abdominal exercises. Usually guys do their stomach exercises at the end of a workout so it is easy to just say oh I'll do them tomorrow. Always do your adominal exercises. Leglifts, medicine ball, crunches, sit ups, health club machines for the abs, leg throwdowns, etc. Mix it up. They each work the abs in a different way and that will help them stimulate the abs more and strengthen them better, and the variety will keep you from getting burnt out from doing the same old stuff everyday.
The other thing you need to do is to practice defending against bodyshots, just like you learn to slip and block head shots. One way to block a body shot is with a quick batdown with the hand. Another way is to turn at the hips and block the shot with your lower arm and elbow pressed to the side of your body. Both these moves must be executed quickly and you must get right back into position after defending, just like when guarding the head.

"How do you deal with bodyshots? "

I like to throw up on their shoes. Then tell them, "Go ahead...do it again. I dare you...there is more where that came from!"

Medicine ball to strengthen your abs. Keep your elbows tucked. And take a short, burst of breath out when you are about to get hit to the body. This not only tenses your muscles but empties your lungs and stops you getting winded so much.

No its usually 50-70% power sometimes throwing in a good shot when your not expecting it lol if you hang from a pullup bar it makes it even rougher
