Call Dillian Whyte. Wilder knows he loses that fight. Otherwise he would take the easy $5million and best payday of his career.
I see most people recommending out boxing him for 12 rounds. I find that it be silly, because you’re giving a much better chance for that cosmic right hand to land eventually. First, it gets increasingly difficult to keep concentration and presence of mind as you get more tired in the rounds. Second, Wilder stays in shape year round and his stamina is amazing, his power carries late in to the fight. Boxing for 12 rounds, unless you’re 200lbs+ Floyd, is counter productive. You have to get Wilder out of there as soon as possible. Ortiz almost did it within a hair. Take advantage of the two things Wilder lacks. One, lack of fundamentals, theoretically you should land him easier for this reason. Second, his chin, although Ortiz fight proved his chin better than advertised, he can still be hurt, and early. However you have to be able to roll the dice and take some risk to pull this off. Again, Ortiz did it and he almost did it, however due to his age most likely, he punched himself out.
Conversely, you're getting a much better chance of Wilder leaving himself exposed to a counter as the fight progresses? I get your point and there is an argument for taking it to him, but if you have sufficient faith in your boxing ability you should be prepared to back yourself against an inferior opponent with a big punch?
THIS. You need to get Wilder out of there as soon as possible. The longer the fight goes the higher the chance to get KTFO because Wilder will be almost always the better conditioned guy with better gas tank. That's the reason i don't think Tyson Fury would beat him because i don't think he could neutralise the right hand for the whole 12 rounds.
Have an ATG chin, which Joshua doesn't, and hope you can land a sweet spot counter like Ortiz did. You're going to get tagged at some point, and forget about outmuscling him, the guy threw the solid Oritz around like a rag doll, he is 100% fast twitch explosive.
With a referee that won’t allow him to give him a precious 30 seconds to recover after he already a minute to do it between the rounds. Let’s be honest, Ortiz putted him on ***** street and Wilder was on the verge of being knocked out. With 20 more seconds in the round and if that stupid referee didn’t helped him, that fight was over. Wilder fights scared, is limited but had probably the most powerful right hand in the business. He could get owned for 11 out of 12 rounds but if he clips you, it means trouble.
Wilder has a great right, but personally i think his power is a bit over rated. Molina, a former cruiserweight journeyman took him 9 rounds, Stiverne took him 12 rounds, Duhuapas could have taken him 12, Arreola fight was stopped because he was shot and old, god knows why Washington fight was stopped as Washington was on his feet and clearly fine, Ortiz went 10 before getting clipped while completely gassed, the only guy Wilder has really iced at the top level is Szpilka, and lets be real, Spilka, and everyone else except Ortiz isnt top level. The idea that Wilder is going to ice everyone is laughable, especially the top of the divsion who have proven their metal and it would most likely be the other way around. Washington and Duhuapas showed the first big guy durable guy who can box is gonna take Wilder out, dare I say, Breazeale?
