I haven't watched that fight in so long... I remember Cotto, Torres and Holt had this circle of exciting fights going on for a period of time...
Well, I remember Alexis Arguello vs Alfredo Escalera l....Cosell even helped heighten the drama in that fight when the decked, lacerated, butchered, outclassed, outfought, out everythinged Snake Man mounted a resurgence late in the fight....and Howie referred to him as a "proud, stubborn champion" in that inimitable way of his....and Escalera tried his best, but AA was just too much for him. Archie Moore vs Yvon Durelle l is another example. Eusabio Pedroza resisted passing that torch to Barry McGuigan quite admirably,...though it's debatable as whether you could call that one a "great fight"...
