When they have speed and/or power that is not common with a lot of fighters.

That's usually what can't be learned in the gym.

You can improve you timing, your distance, punching technique, defense etc. but if you punch like pillows, you punch like pillows.

Some guys come into the gym, and they need to be drilled constantly. The only way they do something right, is to practice again, and again and again.

Others come in, and you show them once, and they almost nail it straight away. Their like a sponge, it comes natrual. They have a nack for this.

Those guys often react quickly, instinctively to their opponents in the ring. They don't need to proccess what's going on. Their brain absorbs it, and reacts in one fluid motion.

Basically, fighters who do things that can't be taught and do them really well.

For me, a "naturally gifted fighter" is one who bursts onto the scene, and makes their mark from a very young age.

Some examples include Mike Tyson, Oscar De La Hoya, and Saul "Canelo" Alvarez.

Naz as a kid, was phenomenal. Never Olympic material, his style was too eratic but guys in the gyms knew that he was going to be special as a pro.

Watching old tapes of Roy Jones as an amatuer is an example of a natrual. Everything he did, was effortless. Total control.

Naturally gifted fighters know how to fight and use training to sharpen their skills, other guys just use moves they practiced in a gym for a while.

    Or what SJS19 said.

Fighters who are born with skills/power/speed that take years for others to learn.
