This content is protected You are a grade A hater man. Hopeless opponents???How many other prospects are being matched against fighters with those kinds of records within a very short time. You dont have to like a fighter to recognize what he is doing.
YIKES i KNEW there something more to it pejavan!!!! You are a *******. Anybody who threatens to steal a bit of Pac's thunder makes you guy's **** your pants.
I think Povetkin/Chambers is a good example of a fighter crossing the threshold from prospect to contender. He didn't just beat chambers. He made him look aboslutely HORRID!
I recognize the talent of Gamboa but to say at he faced a tough pposition and thus he is not a prospect o soething is jut erroneous. I do not see anything special about Jimenez. There are some who are insinuating that this Jimene guy would KO Amir Khan, making it appera that Jimenez is so tough, etc. Let us call a spade a spade. Gamboa is a good boxer but he has only 10 fights. The 400+ fights in amateur probably does not make him your standard "prospect". But his resume does not make exceptional. He has not fought anybody yet that you would expect him to give him hard time.
He hasn't fought anyone that you would expect to give him a hard time....but Jiminez isn't your run of the mill bum! Expectations are THAT high on Gamboa that a solid C+/B- talent like Jiminez is expected to be blown out in his 10th fight! So......im confused as to where you stand. Do you consider Gamboa a prospect or no?
A fighter stops being a prospect once he beats a contender, champion or a few very good gate keepers. Or if they fight a champion and lose but do very good in there fight(e.i Paulie Maligaggi). Some times fighters go straight from prospect to champion(e.i Tim Bradley). The number of fights doesn't determine when a fighter stops being a prospect it's his resume that does.
he actually did come to think of it. Why did he stop throwing punches? Was he just amazed by Povetkin (who was sick) and able to still throw punches like there was no tomorrow?
So in other words, since Khan will never make it to that level, what is he? A big cash cow circus act boxer and insult to the real fighters who get little chances?
Are you following the train ofthe arguments or just because someone puts it clearly that you sort to name calling. the post was in reply to this post: IMO you go from prospect to contender once you really start to step up.Of course in Gamboa's case he is right on the verge of contender or may even be there with a minimul amount of fights because of the quality of opposition. I like what I see about Gamboa but the post is entirely nuthugging. It is either Gamboa's manager is stupid or the definition of "quality of opposition" changed while I was napping. .
