How do you expect Cotto to deal with Margarito's offensive tools?

He'll cover up at times and pull away the other times and counter.

Margarito can work on his uppercut all he wants. All I needed to see on that subject was Cotto taking Zab's flush and sticking around to eat seconds.

No active welterweight is one-shotting Cotto right now. Zab couldn't, Shane couldn't, Berto wouldn't, and Williams wouldn't. Tony needs to come in the best shape of his life, and be ready to whack the life out of Miguel downstairs in the hopes that the late rounds turn into a war of attrition. Trying to time Cotto with specific shots is pointless with his skill set.

Must warn you, it's an exercise in futility.

 

Cotto will essentially have to box, move, and counter. To top all of that, he needs to go to body early and often. It won't bother Tony early but it will begin to take its toll in the middle and late rounds. Essentially you will have Tony moving forward all night and Miguel being the one who will need to move laterally and shoot from all angles. In addition, Tony will test Miguel's chin while Cotto will look to take the lung from Margarito. It will be an interesting fight for sure.
