Curious to see everyones feelings here.... I don't think either side is right or wrong. Think it entirely comes down to personal preference.

I personally think marquez is right for not fighting pac a 5th time. I personally look at it this way....

if pacquiao KO'd marquez as violently as marquez ko'd pacquiao. There would be no request for the rematch. I also personally don't buy the "pacquiao gave marquez 3 rematches" nonsense. Pacquiao was forced to give marquez those rematches and marquez arguably got robbed in 2 of the fights.

Honestly, Marquez shouldnt fight Pac again. He knows he cant land the same punch again, and he knows he'd have to do VADA to fight Pac again. In an ideal world, he should fight Pac again of course (as he has a losing record against him), but in reality VADA is the enemy.

I didnt even get your reasoning out of all of that. Why shouldnt Marquez fight Pac again? Say it succinctly..

basically... if pacquiao knocked marquez the **** out there is no possible way on earth that pacquiao would give him a rematch and there would be no public demand for a rematch either...

Boxing is a form of entertainment and since Pac was actually winning the last fight before he got KO'd why not let them go at it again. Of course if JMM thinks he can make more money fighting someone beside Pac all the power to him.

There's no need for a 5th fight, as we conclusively know who is the superior fighter. On to more important matters for Marquez.

Lol I got that, but wtf does that have to do with anything? You're reasoning is so bad that its kinda funny. Of course if the favourite knocks out the underdog, there will be no demand for a rematch, and if the underdog beats the favourite, there will be plenty demand for a rematch. So what man?

If Khan beats Floyd, they will have a rematch. Khan doesnt turn around and say, 'I wont rematch Floyd because if Floyd beat me, you guys wouldnt want a rematch'. Random, random logic.

Not if youre biased like you are. If youre a fair, reasonable boxing observer, you say Pacquiao got the nod for 2 fights in which either fighter could have won, and Marquez knocked Pac out when Pac was winning the fight on all judges scorecards, and was in search for the KO. There is no superiority either way. If I want to be a pedant like you, I will point out that Pac has a winning record against Marquez.

The rematch sells well, it answers questions; but the main roadblock is the VADA testing. Marquez cant fight any big names anymore because he would have to do VADA (or at least sign for it and then run away like he did for Bradley).

Coward move by JMM. The 5th fight won't happen because JMM won't be able to use steroids since they will be going through stringent testing. That's why Marquez will turn down huge sums of money to fight for peanuts instead as long as VADA/ODST can be avoided.

The reason why the fight should happen is because Pacquiao won 2 fights already and 1 was a draw. He was also winning the 4th fight convincingly and Pac was going in for the kill. KOs happen to the best of boxers and it was a mistake by Pacquiao being too eager that caused it. JMM without PEDs and Pac not being too eager = Easy Pac win.

I was a Marquez fan until the crybaby sombrero incident. I can't root for a fighter with so little class. So not wanting to rematch Pac, the man who made him rich and gave him three rematches, is not a surprise.
