How do you all feel about Middlweights who want to fight Small Welterweights not even a big one. Meanwhile the middleweight is being called out buy guys closer to his size, yet he ignores them and wants the little guy?

It all depends. These guys are all about money. So if the smaller guy offers a payday that is several times bigger than what the MW normally gets, then it's a no brainer that the MW go after the smaller guy. Meanwhile, if the guys closer to his size pose a legit threat to him but not a huge pay day, then it makes sense for the MW to ignore them.

when the middleweight said he'll go to the division where this welterweight is the champion i don't see the problem
always makes me laugh how they justify this with 'well he should go up a divsion t challenge himself against the best' .........err well surly the welterweight should as well??

Its all about money. Asking PBF to fight GGG is not reasonable and is never going to happen.

If the money or the circumstances are there, why not? If the small WW holds a title(s) in a higher weightclass (like Floyd and Cotto) and the MW is wanting to fight them at that weightclass, then were's the problem? :conf
How many complained when Hopkins did it? Later he dragged up opponents 1 or 2 weightclasses, wich isn't that nice of course.

So you agree that if GGG wants Floyd he should go to WW where Floyd is champion.

No different to Bernard Hopkins fighting Tito and De La Hoya when Calzaghe was calling him out. Who would you say Hagler's best wins came against as well?

For the record GGG has clarified it an has been ducked by Ward and Froch.

Floyd is not a small welterweight and he's being called out to fight in a division he has belts at. You don't claim to be "The Best Ever" and then refuse to defend your belts against big challengers. It's not like he's being asked to fight Kovalev. He's a champ at 154 and anyone who can make 154 is a legit challenger.

It's perfectly rational for guys to call out the best and biggest names from the division below. Just don't cop pleas or whine when those fighters themselves get called out from the division above.

Considerably less strongly than I feel about ANOTHER thread which takes a ridiculously polarised and biased view of what’s happening to attempt to troll people.

    wouldn't you?
History is full off these types of fights and for a reason.
The Faboulous Four had only two guys who started in the same weight class yet they all fought each other.

"Natural" weight is one of the bigger misapprehension in boxing. People grow bigger with age. Its rare for someone to weigh the same in their 30s as they did in their 20s.

I am looking forward to Golovkin-Cotto and everyone complaining about the catchweight while no one is dissaproving about a proposed Mayweather-Golovkin fight at 154. (and yes, i am aware of the lineal championship)
