    How many more times?

You can keep posting this nonsense every week, it won't make it true.

Roy's Dad intervened, and stopped him from fighting Douglas. Roy and his Dad hadn't spoke for 6 years, and it brought them back together. So Roy shelved his plans, because at 28, he knew there'd be other opportunities. There was no way his Dad could have talked him out of it in 2003 though, because it was his last chance at 34 to go up. If Roy hadn't have ever fought at HW, then you could say that he had no intentions of going up, and he just flirted with the idea. But we know he did go up. So there's no reason not to believe that he genuinely wanted Douglas in 98.

I've told you a hundred times that Ruiz wasn't hand picked. Roy spoke to Holyfield just prior to his third fight with Ruiz late in 2001. If Holy had've won and taken the belt, they'd have fought. But they drew and Ruiz kept the belt. Roy then turned down the opportunity, and stayed at 175 for a while longer. He took a few mandatories, and was under pressure to rematch Hopkins, but Hopkins priced himself out by initially wanting the bigger share, and then demanding 50/50. When that fight couldn't be made, he then pursued Ruiz.

It pains you that much to credit Roy, you even have to resort to talking about Jay Nady. Ha!

If Ruiz was completely garbage, then he wouldn't have knocked down and beaten Holy and won the WBA belt. Holy wasn't shot to **** when he fought Ruiz, and everyone knows he was robbed against Valuev in 2008. A guy who beat Holy in the early 00's had to be a decent guy. Ruiz was effective.

Now why don't you name me all of the SMW's and all the LHW's, that have gone up to fight a top 5 HW?

Roy wanted Tyson, and kept his Ruiz physique in the hope of getting the fight.

Lewis was up for fighting Roy for millions of dollars early in 2003. But after his fight with Vitali, he decided it was the right time to retire. We've all seen the links.

    Keep hating!

This is a blatant lie. And no Jones was not going to fight Lennox he said he would for 100 mil that is pricing himself out. Jones was talking about fighting Tarver at the post fight press conference he was NEVER going to stay at Heavyweight there was only one John Ruiz around for him to handpick. His Mandatory was Vitali Klitschko which was due by the end of the year. Jones ran back down to Light Heavyweight and got his Glass Jaw shattered multiple times in brutal and embarrassing fashion. His whole career was predicated on protecting that Fragile Glass Jaw his bizarre actions and handpicked opponents prove it.

Curious about that Hopkins rematch Jones was under pressure for, Loudon - was Roy supposed to boil down to 160 for the first time in four years or was Hopkins supposed to come up? (which he wouldn't do for eight more years)

Or were they supposed to meet in the middle...er, super middle?

Lewis turned down 30 million to fight Roy..Lewis had been stripped for avoiding Ruiz and Byrd. Whats hard to understand..Roy at the time was seen as a very serious threat and Lewis didn't fancy his chances.

    Another post containing NOTHING!

So what if Virgil didn't have a title at the time they fought?

    No one is arguing otherwise.

But Roy's circumstances were different at that point.

Roy's fight with Douglas had fallen through, and he took the fight at a catchweight. The reason he took the fight, was because he'd wanted to fight him ever since he went up to 175.

When Eubank wanted a fight in 97, Roy wasn't interested. That was because he'd got Griffin in front of him, and again, he was looking to fight Hill afterwards.

It's really not that hard to grasp.

Eubank wanted nothing to do with Roy at 168, and he was just looking for a payday in 96/97, after he'd lost twice to Collins.

You've got a serious lack of perspective.

    Ha!

I love reading your hate filled posts, they're hilarious!

You claim that you have a great knowledge of boxing, and then tell us all that Roy shouldn't be classed as an ATG.

    Priceless!

Lennox Lewis would have savagely shattered Roy's Glass Jaw with a Jab and that isn't an exaggeration. Jones said he wanted 100 mil to fight Lennox. That isn't remotely serious.

Roy fought a CW when he was 42.

Joe didn't have the bollocks to fight a CW.

Joe struggled to make weight at SMW, and only fought at LHW when it was safe to do so.

Roy got knocked out by a guy, who Joe would never have fought.

Joe wouldn't even fight Glen Johnson!

What's Joe doing in his early 40's?

Sniffing lines of coke, and dancing on tv.

Roy wanted Hopkins to come to 175, but Hopkins didn't want to.. So I believe they were gonna fight at 168, but Hopkins wouldn't do 60-40..:good

Hopkins complained that Roy was too big for him at 175, but gladly moved up to fight an even bigger Tarver 4 years later.:huh
