Ruiz had 38 wins with 27 KO's at the time of the Jones fight... It isn't that bad Rico. Shouldn't it say something too that he knocked out Heavyweights after Jones beat him?

And if you say big Roy looked at KO ratios and picked Ruiz, why wouldn't he have picked Chris Byrd? Who's KO ratio was less than John Ruiz's?:huh

I can see it now.. Had Roy beat Byrd, your revisionist theory would be that Big Roy picked the HW champ with the least KO ratio and one that would stand and fight Roy's fight, and that Roy was afraid of getting mauled and beat up on the ropes by John Ruiz.:deal

Ruiz was never a big puncher. Ever. End of discussion as far as that goes. Holyfield had a huge unification fight on the horizon with Lennox Lewis why in the hell would he fight Roy anytime before that? :huh

That makes ZERO sense and hence why he wasn't interested. Jones had anytime after 1999 to fight Holyfield and chose not to. 4 years went by and he handpicks Ruiz.

He was a big puncher to a glass jawed fighter that started off at 154!

Roy unified at 175, and decided to go to HW, when the DM fight fell through.

How many more times, regarding Ruiz?

You are just making a fool of yourself.

If he approached Holy late in 2001, BEFORE he fought Ruiz, then how the f**k was Ruiz handpicked???

If you want to ignore that fact, and EVERY link that has been posted on this thread, then you are just showing us how ignorant you are!

You can keep saying that Ruiz was handpicked over and over again, but it won't make it true.

He was a big puncher to a former 154 lb fighter.. Every boxing expert or anyone to ever step in a boxing ring would tell you that one.. End of discussion as far as that goes...

I wasn't speaking on how much sense the fight made for Holy, only that Roy was clearly interested..

Anything would have been a cherry pick with your agenda.

Roy is one of the best I've seen in my lifetime along with SRL, Pea, FMJ, Duran, JCC, and Pacman. In fact as far as natural talent goes I think he was the best of them all...shades of SRR.

    Robinson was an overrated bum

Jones is superior in every way

    No one beats prime jones

I think he destroys any version of tyson post 1995
He loses to Lewis by ko, but he'd be leading on the score cards
He destroys post peak Holyfield but would lose to peak Holyfield

    He destroys hearns, ko 1
He would beat the **** out of haggler
    Murder Duran
And expose Leonard as a ***** ***** he was

    :lol::lol::lol:

yes a guy like SRR was a bum who was willing to take on all comers but Roy who was scared to fight anyone that "punched too hard" would just mow through everyone even though he didn't prove it in his own era because he was to scared to take risks. Yeah that is so believable.

Why do you keep saying that Roy was scared to fight anyone that "punched too hard"?

According to Julian Jackson, it was Big Roy who said that, NOT Roy.

Again, you're just making a fool of yourself.

You inform us on almost every one of your posts, that Roy had a glass jaw.

Yet he started out at 154, and then ended up fighting at CW and HW, in his 30's and 40's, way past his best.

You can't have it both ways!

If he started out at 154, won his first title at 160, had a glass jaw, and took no risks, then what the f**k was he doing fighting Ruiz, Green and Lebedev??

You're a joke, just like the other two clowns on here.

You enjoy telling us how Roy got knocked out by Green and Lebedev, but at the same time, you won't acknowledge that it was a risk.

    You're hilarious!

Once again, list me all of the other fighters who've won belts at MW, and then gone on to fight at CW and HW.

    Show me!

He refused to fight Nunn at smw

He could of fought Nunn after he was given the wbc belt, but he choise Griffin instead

He was ordered to fight Nunn after Griffin and Jones made Nunn a lowball offer of 150k. HBo were paying 3m for that fight. The fight would go to purses and Nunn's promoters would win the fight with a purse bid of 2.2m. What that meant was that Nunn under the wnc rules was now entitled to 25% of that purse, Jonmes vacated the belt saying the Nunn did not deserve a purse. He started talking about Douglas AFTER that

(The Jones-McCallum fight was for the interim belt. A made up belt which the wbc brought in at hbo's request to make the fight more saleble. Tiozzi was the wbc lhw champion. After he vacated the belt to go to cw the wbc then promoted Jones to being the full wbc champion)

    :lol::lol::lol::lol:

    Priceless.

You don't even realise how fvcking stupid you make yourself look.

The nonce case Jones, said to the even bigger nonce case Lampley,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,blah, blah, blah.

So the moronic Loud Mouth quotes it as gospel.

    Comedy gold.

Go back to digging coal you northern scum.

By the way love your reference to Maggie coming from Grimsby. She obviously hated it that much, she put you all on the dole and destroyed your whole communities.:good

All the time sipping champagne in her 1 million pound house ( even in the 80's ) in Flood St. Chelsea.

You do realise she didn't bother living solely above the shop in Downing ST don't you? Because Chelsea was, and still is more desirable.:lol::lol:

All paid for by you northern savages doing the filthy, injurious to health work that we southerners were too shrewd to do.

And neither was John Ruiz. That is also a fact.

    So your worthless point is?

Another fact is Fitz took on the only Heavyweight champion of the world, not the weakest of 3.

You really need to learn how to read.

    1. Show me where me and Mind Reader have made claims that Roy wanted Ruiz BEFORE Lennox.

We've been waiting for two days now.

Are you having trouble finding it?

    How strange.

    2. Show me where I said that Margaret Thatcher was born in GRIMSBY?

She was born in Grantham, you moron!

You can't get anything right can you?

You've comeback and tried to be clever, but haven't even got the right town.

How stupid do you look now?

Why don't you answer me this question, and I promise it's not hard, so you should be ok.

Roy said to Lampley that Lennox wasn't sure if he was going to fight again.

    Now, did Lennox fight again??

I'll help you out, because I know how thick you are.

Lennox did NOT fight again afterwards.

So I guess Roy was lying, and all 7 links on here have all been fabricated?

Now be honest, do you really want to continue with the mining slurs, after you've made a complete **** of yourself on two occasions?
