If Lewis and his team knew that Roy was DEMANDING $100m, then why did they even speak to him?

Why did Lewis speak to Roy, and tell him that he wasn't sure if he was going to be fighting again?

Why have we NEVER seen any links, or heard anything from Lewis, that says he wanted the fight, but Roy messed him around, and priced himself out etc?

I'm dealing with people on here, that have argued that Iran Barkley was deserving of a fight with Roy at 168, and Roy DUCKED him after he'd beaten Toney, even though he never even fought at 168, after Roy had beaten Toney.

That's a quick example of what I'm up against.

Then there's clowns asking why Roy ducked Victor Cordorba and Darrin Van Horn etc. Then just about every week, we also have people asking why Roy ducked Eubank at 168, even though Eubank has admitted he wanted no part of him.

I've tried to make good threads, such as "Have boxing skills progressed, or have they regressed?" but they soon get overrun with ******s, and I just think, what's the point?

 

Byrd had skills which I have mentioned over and over. See, Byrd was a middleweight that fought Super Heavyweights and won a few times. Jones would have had his Glass Jaw shattered in violent fashion.

Ruiz not only had no power but no skills to speak of. Throw Jay Nady into the mix and what was he going to do? He was forced to stand in the middle of the ring flat footed because every time he tried to maul Jones like he was allowed to in every fight before and since then he was immediately pulled away by Nady.

Using Byrd as an example actually makes Jones looks worse.

Byrd would have been to much of a risk for Roy. We both know Jones wasn't about taking risks he has admitted that himself.

Had Roy Jones beat Byrd, your revisionist theory would be that he picked the smallest, HW champ with the lowest KO ratio that he knew would suit his style, and was afraid of getting mauled and beat up on the ropes by John Ruiz..

And how many times do I have to tell you, a lot of the reason why Ruiz was standing in the center of the ring, is because Roy got his respect early and was making John hesitate due to the insane handspeed he had NEVER seen before. You don't give Roy credit for ANYTHING!! Ruiz tried to bull rush Roy several times, but was unsuccesful due to Roy being able to back up and tag him at the same time.. Roy's ring generalship in that fight was a thing of beauty.

BTW, What happened to Byrd when he moved back down to LHW?

Vitali was his Original mandatory but when he elected to fight for the WBC against Lennox they removed him and Tua was the mandatory.

I remember an interview with Kellerman on ESPN where he asked Roy about fighting Vitali and Roy said "I will knock him out" then Kellerman said "No Roy not Wlad but Vitali the other brother who has never been knocked down or KOed" and Roy mumbled something like "Uh, oh yeah well he can get some too" :rofl
