Shane has four losses to tall, long armed, rangy fighters. Big whoop, at this point in his career taking a Margarito fight for anything less than "private island in Dubai" money wouldn't make sense. Everyone should be able to recognize this. What was Mr. Best Ever's excuse again? As for the roids, of course they tarnish his reputation. But since what they achieved was vaulting him into an artificially high weight class where he was beaten down twice, I view him (and Roy) as cautionary tales, not successful, sinister villains. Their careers have suffered enough already.
mosley should have stayed at 135, he was an absolute machine at that division and was too quick and too powerful, he still has the chance to go back and could still beat everyone that is there. i would back mosley to beat casa, campbell, j.diaz, d.diaz and katsides at 135.
In just the last 7 years. De la Hoya twice Vargas twice Winky twice Forrest twice Collazo Cotto Those are just the big names people will recognise, I don't know enough about the rest of the crew he fought. I feel that these fights alone trump any of Floyd's scraps.
Thats a nice resume also when he fought and destroyed Antonio Diaz in 2001 Diaz had beaten alot of guys coming in Ward,Weis,Robinson,Crayton,Augustus,Spinks ETC. Then his Lightweight resume is solid as well Holliday,Molina,Leija.
I'd have to agree. Pac KO1 Mosley is a foregone conclusion, but what about prime Castillo, prime Corrales, and prime Hatton? I don't think they'd have a shot in hell against Mosley.
Even the "stay in the pocket and trade all night" Mosley would be too much for fighters who simply do not possess nor fight the style necessary to beat a monster like Mosley. They are not pure, rangy, fleet footed defensive geniuses who would beffudle Shane to a UD ala Winky and to a very close extent, Oscar.
True - Mosley would probably be 39-0 against Mayweather's competition. On a side note, I would probably pick a prime Quartey over Mosley fairly clearly on the scorecards. The height and equal physical strength would be a big factor. The shotgun jab combined with a turtle shell defense that made him tough to hit would probably be the difference.
Cant agree with you, Mosley in his prime was a bad boy and still is. But I can see why you say that, but I just think of the Mosley that bounces around and was probably the fastest fighter besides Taylor and Jones
Mosley is definitely a bad boy, about as tough and durable as they come. But I think his weakness is fighters with good defenses and long/active jabs. My guess is that Quartey wins a decision, much like Forrest did without the knockdowns and with Mosley winning more rounds, especially late in the fight.
You are right about Mosley Weaknesses, but I feel like Quarty would get knock down about three x's in the fight that he would lose on points in probably a lopsided fight
