a) mike tyson. George had a habbit of blowsing out anybody who stood with him, he would land and could trade with the best. Could Mike beat him at his own game, could anybody? b) vitali klitschko. Foreman struggled with the things vitali brought to the ring, with vitali's decent chin reach and most like if he was wise decision to fight off the back foot, how would this go?
1970s George Foreman knocks out any version of Mike Tyson. 1980s/1990s George Foreman loses, in my opinion. 1970s George Foreman and 1980s/1990s George Foreman would do about the same vs Vitali. This fight would depend mostly on who is able to establish their jab first. If Vitali does, he'll keep George away with solid 1-2s and win a decision. If George does, he'll continually tag Vitali and set up other attacks enroute to winning a decision.
Tyson wins. Way better, faster, better defense, better movement, quicker, took better punch (although if Foreman catches someone they will be hurt) and may have hit as hard. Better puncher al around (speed, accuracy, combinations)
Prime Foreman beats both. Stops Tyson in 4. stops Vitali inside 7. Tyson was made for George. Uppercut city! Double uppercuts! And Vitali? Vitali had his hands full with guys like Sanders and Lennox. Prime Foreman just hammers Vitali to the body, uppercuts, rough house tactics etc Prime Foreman stops both. Old Foreman loses by UD to both but he makes a good showing.
Foreman destroys Tyson. Foremans power shots were those sweeping uppercuts against short crouching fighters. George pushes Mike back on his heels from the first bell..physically and with his telephone jab. I don't see the bout going past 2 rounds. George walks down Vitali, corners him and knocks him out. Noone cut the ring off better than prime Foreman and he was such a physical force in the ring. Rights and lefts rain down on Vitali and the fights over within 5 rounds.
gotta take issue with the idea that tyson took a better punch...at best where physically equal..with old foreman being much more mentally tough..and young foreman likely being a bit mentally tougher to absorbe punches.
40 and 0 George walks down Vitali and TKOs him in 4. Vitali doesn't have the speed or power to keep George off of him. Foreman vs Tyson I go back and forth on. Foreman has the jab, the power advantage and roughhouse tactics. I could see him pushing Mike and unloading uppercuts, hooks, and the right hand, all the while eating all of Tysons shots and stopping Mike. George Dominated Frazier whose bobbing and weaving style was ineffective. Foreman dominates Mike physically and lands many flush shots. Foreman KO 2 is perfectly reasonable. However I believe The defense and speed of Mike was impeccable and I dont think Foreman could eat many flush shots from Mike. Punching power Mike is up there at or a hare below George, but George could manhandle Mike in terms of sheer physicality. Tyson had the beard to eat a few Foreman bombs meanwhile countering Foreman with hooks and uppercuts while Foreman gets dropped a few times. Tyson KO 5. It comes down to if Tysons edge in speed Defense, and power over would make it different from the Frazier fight.. Ali is one in a million, aside from him perhaps only an incredible scientist with an iron chin ala Young could beat 40 and 0 George. Vitali gets destroyed though, ugly fight.
Foreman would beat Tyson....there is little doubt in my mind about that..... Now, Vitali vs Foreman would be hard, but I would bet some money on George too tbh....
Foreman was one of my favorite fighters as a young fan but in reality he did not face too many punchers early in his career, even when he fought Frazier, Joe was not punching sharp (as you can see vs Stander and Daniels)...The Lyle fight was the 1st against a above average puncher and I can definitely see Tyson coming out victorious against that version of Foreman....BUT Tyson did not have Foreman's heart IMO because Tyson never got off the floor to win, while Foreman showing vulnerability to be hit and fall in the Lyle fight did show the ability to rise and conquer and that is something that Tyson never did....So for me that intangible may speak volumes for both men never fought a raw puncher like the other
I think Foreman stops Tyson within 6 ... just the perfect style mesh for him. I think Vitali either stops or decisions Foreman.... probably going to be rather unpopular but prime Vitali was not slow by any stretch and pre shoulder surgery he had serious pop alongside great work rate. I think his timing and sense of distance would nullify Foreman.
