as his trainer , robert has done well with bam bam rios and margarito to an extent , both of those fighters have good power and solid chins , i feel arreola needs help in a technical sense , his weight has improved also his dedication , i think it would be a good fit for arreola , it would be good for him to be in a stable with some of the best mexican american prospects like mike garcia and bam bam rios thoughts?:hat
could do some good. bam bam, margarito fit his style. but, he needs a trainer to teach him some defense. he gets hit too much
I like this idea, a fitter arreola fighting heavyweights the way rios fights would be awesome, he's got the heart and toughness just needs to loose a few more pounds and brush up on some technical in-fighting might be a perfect fit
Actually, he was an accomplished amatuer fighter. He fell into bad habits (fell in love with his power, stopped training hard) well after he turned pro. What he is doing now is exactly what led him to become a prospect in the first place. I think working with Ronnie Shields is working well for him, but the idea of moving to Garcia is not a bad one.
Arreolla is 6'4" 235lbs, he is 10-20lbs lighter than the klits who are considered very fit. His weight is fine, he does not have the genetics to get chiselled like most athletes his size. If he gets too light chasing this physique everyone thinks he should have it will start to have an adverse effect on his performance.
Arreola is one of the best combination punchers in his division, but despite him losing weight he needs that speed and when I mean speed I mean his foot and head movement, not just his hands if he wants to compete with the Klits. That overhand right hand can be seen a mile away. Hes doing great hes improving, but he needs that bounce on his toes.Hes slowly getting there, but hes getting there. He achieved his mission of fighting and hopefully staying at 235. Its his speed and defense that drastically need tweaking.
