I have been scanning my memory banks, and can't think of seeing Kayode before. Looked at boxrec and see he's undefeated, 18-0 (14ko's). The only name I recognize much is Matt Godfrey, who is/was a pretty damn good fighter. Is Tarver favored, or is he expected to take an ass kicking in this fight? Anybody having seen much of Kayode care to tell of how he fights, style, strengths, etc would be appreciated. Only a couple hours out now. :good Would be something if Tarver can take this guys 0 at CW. :yep
Tarver should have too much experience for kayode ! But tarver really doesnt look to be in good shape for this one! Compare the weigh ins from tarver in the danny green fight and kayode!
that would be cool. Tarver's overall entertainment value has always seemed relatively high, IMO. the Dawson fights were a little "meh", but that come down to styles. Same for the Hopkins fight. Go Tarver! This dude is undefeated though. that means he doesn't know how to lose yet. His KO% is impressive, though I know most of the better fighters get that padded up in the beginning of the career. We'll see soon enough.
Do you have pics, or know a link to some. I haven't seen them. Experience, YES. Tarver has been in with some big guns (including Rocky Balboa ), and other than Harding early in his career has only lost to Chad Dawson, Bernard Hopkins, and Roy Jones Jr. We know how Tarver avenged that RJJ loss too :scaredas::scaredas:
Kayode has been on ShoBox a couple of times. He has underwhelmed at times but impressed at others. Sometimes in the same fight. A sharp Antonio Tarver could outclass the guy and win a convincing decision. I'm not sure if this Tarver is sharp enough. I have it as a pick em until I see Tarver in the ring.
Tarver is about a 3.5-1 favorite, actually. . And that sounds about right to me, seeing as how Kayode is so ****ing crude. . i mean, seriously, he's crude. . . he has a boxer/puncher style, and a low punch output, so he's not the kind of crude guy who could simply overwhelm Tarver with youth, and stamina. . . He's slow, and telegraphs every single punch, including the jab (LOL how do you telegraph a jab? Watch kayode to find out. . . ) He's really the perfect style for Tarver to make him look impressive by beating a "young, undefeated, Roach boxer" (although Roach barely has time to work with him, im sure). . . Tarver will shut him out. . . Wouldn't be surprised at all if Kayode didn't win a single round, and never even got close.
It's going to be a HARD fight for both guys. Have watched Kayode multiple times on ShowBox he is a strong come forward type of guy he don't have the best skills on the planet but who needs that when your fighting @ cruiser weight. "IF" Tarver can still perform @ even 70% of his best I say The Magic Man has this fight. I am not to sold on Kayode chin, have seen him rocked a couple times in previous fights. My prediction is Tarver by Decision.
