Lets say his contract problems are sorted and he is free to fight in September. How do you get him to a world title.

Obviously the Cleverly fight seems like a no-go for now. His ranking with the EBU is only number 5 and I think it would cost allot of money to get Gutkenekt over to Liverpool.

I would say get get another defence of the British title in. Dickinson is his mandatory although you have to wonder if they would take that fight. But its a decent name due the Dickinsons Prizefighter win. I think this would give him the title outright.

Then in December someone like Yussuf Mack. He is world ranked, only lost at world level but been stopped 4 times whenever he has stepped it up. This should put him in a position to challenge for the European as mandatory by early 2013.

    I'd fetch Glencoffe Johnson over.

A win there solidifies him as fringe world class.

BBBofC won't license him as hes over 40 and not a world champ.

    Could always get Luxomberg involved.

Is that their criteria, surely they look at the individual rather than age/belt?

Is that fact? If so it shows how antiquated the BBBoC are.

Every case needs to be judged on its merits.

Would they not let Hopkins fight Cleverly, or Vitali rematch Haye, if Haye took his titles?

If I was Bellew I'd go nowhere near Travis Dickinson. That would be an absolute war which could go either way depending on who landed the big shot first.
Bellew needs a name on his record, but someone he'd beat.

It would be interesting to see if Fwank could get Roy Jones over. I'd hate to se Jones lose to Bellew but if he insists on fighting on and losing Bellew may as well ad his once impressive name to his cv.

I would say there's probably 2-3 fights out there for Bellew before he should even consider looking at the likes of Gutknecht.

The Roy Jones idea would work, as you say it would add a once impressive name to his CV however I get the feeling this wouldn't appeal to Bellew himself too much.

Dickinson & then Gabriel Campillo for me.

    Jones would still school Bellew.

Have him face Allan Green or Murat.

The same Bellew who couldn't put Bob Ajisafe away?

The same RJJ that was 20 odd seconds from going the full 12 with Lebedev?

    Yeah, Alright then...
