This thread has been made before, but with the recent mcdonnell-ibf fiasco,Vitali-Emiritus situation, and the ongoing WBA super and regular champion conundrum, i feel this is a necessary topic for discussion.

    for me it is

    1. WBO
    2. WBC
    3. IBF
    4. WBA

WBO is the newest and was traditionally looked upon as the weakest of organizations, but to my knowledge they have the least bollocks surrounding them and their champs.

WBC is the most coveted, but I feel in recent years they shown themselves up with corruption and obvious favouritism towards certain fighters

IBF have made ****s of themselves in a similar way to the WBC, and i'm ranking them lower solely because they don't quite have the same history

WBA are the longest standing organization, but in my humble opinion the whole regular-super champ deal is completely farcial and just serves to make a mockery of the sport

    YOUR THOUGHTS?

They are all ******* offspring of the WBA, the fact such a poor 'Father' is bottom is hardly unexpected, but unfortunately as 7UP shows, it is pretty easy to plot the path of the Sons...

IMO opinion they all let themselves down equally

Can nvr look past the WBC as the main title in each division even with their diamond belts etc fiasco and their blatant favouritism toward the Mexicans is very silly at times

By a majority of boxers, yes, for many decades now.

Most notably Floyd Mayweather Jr. has gone on record saying he esteems "the green belt" highest among the world titles.

Much of its prestige stems from Muhammad Ali's second reign. Of course he was unified WBC & WBA heavyweight champ for its full duration - but aesthetically, which do you suppose might have stood out more and made a fixed impression on all those who grew up in those days watching him on TV or since on Youtube/video/DVD (including not only fans and journos but the subsequent couple of generations of boxers themselves)? :deal

I think PBF had only fought for one belt which wasn't the WBC for the first ten years or so of his career? If I recall he won another belt after fighting either Judah or Corrales and vacated it straight away....

The next time was the Cotto fight......

The belt is certainly the most aestheticly pleasing, plus I think the name of the org is also the most suitable for a belt

WBA's venerability and longevity can't be knocked, even though it has gotten ridiculous with some of its recent antics.

WBC's recognition can't be denied, enough though it's run by a man as reviled as his org is recognized (same dynamic as that between Don King and his promotional empire at its height, really)

IBF's legitimacy can't be annulled, even though its strength of name has diminished from its first decade wherein they established themselves as part of a legitimate "Big Three" and not just a pretender org based on a strong roster of champions.

WBO's tenacity can't be ignored, even though - in diametric opposition with the path of the IBF - it spent most of its early years without many strong titlists to garner respect, taking a long time before reaching the a consensus view of worthiness alongside (but still to date slightly below) the Big Three.

(consider the IBF a front-runner and the WBO a slow-starter, to slap anthropomorphizing metaphor on them in terms of boxer types)

So what you are saying is Cow crap, Horse crap, Dog crap and Cat crap each have value in their own way.

Personally I think 'crap is crap'. It is a necessity of life, nothing to talk about. But if it turns bloody, you go straight to the Doctor!

Unfortunately boxing does not have a 'Doctor', thus it will eventually die agonizingly of a kind of 'Bowel Cancer'...
