There is no one who looked **** as an amateur and went on to make a great pro

There's only amatuers that turned pro really young or ones that never got there chance to fight at the highest level as an amatuer that went on to make great pros

His arguing how tyson and Tillman, Tyson was an incredible amatuer that turn pro at 18 and became an incredible pro

Tillman wouldn't hav even won the medel if It hadn't have been a boycotted games

That medal needs one big * next to it. Two of his 'wins' where robberies.

The Khytrov fight was especially bad, he got dominated, knocked down twice, and still 'won'.

Can you read? Here is what I stated "being a great amateur does not mean pro success". Where did I state that being sh1te as an amateur guarantees pro success?

Anyhow, Ogogo was a decent amateur.

No he wasn't. He was an average/mediocre amateur.

He got beat up by the average Eamonn O'Kane.

Why state: "being a great amateur does not mean pro success" when it is completely irrelivent to the topic at hand. Who claimed it did?

Being a crap/average amateur however does guarantee you're going to be a crap/average pro. Hence my post.:patsch

He was very average, hammered by O'Neill and o'kane and dominated by Quigley twice when Quigley was very young and barely a senior

But the worst thing about his amatuer career Is that he never beat anyone good in a fair fight

Mate you're clueless. This is some boxrec warrior ****.

How do you rate the 2010 commonwealth Gold medalist who wooped him from post to pillar? - go on Google will tell you who it was since you clearly didn't watch it!

Did you even watch his Olympic bronze medal 'wins'?

Get off Wikipedia, some of use actually watched him as an amateur.

winning a tournament when your 14 means very little there plenty of 14 year old world champions who couldnt win a youth world title

yes silver, o'kane finished first and hammered him, you know that competition at the commenwealths is slim

and that medel was a robbery ffs his an average amatuer

name one top amatuer his ever beat?

You are the troll calling him average/mediocre as an amateur. I have just proven that he wasn't by posting his achievements above. Those achievements are not the achievements of an average/mediocre amateur. Hope that helps :good

All you've 'proven' is that you never actually watched him as an amateur- you've glanced at his Wikipedia.

    Good for you.

You claiming his Bronze medal at the Olympics is a great achievement is especially hilarious since he was involved in the most blatant robbery since roy jones - park si hun.

Ogogo wasn't a mediocre amateur lets be serious, but that said he was hardly an amateur that set the world alight. Like it's been pointed out he achieved a good bit as an amateur but as it's also been said, what 'top, top' names did he beat?

Always felt that when someone put it on Ogogo he looks a bit fragile, I remember years ago in the senior ABA final he outpointed Luke Robinson but got cracked with a right hand (which the judges didn't score) which put him down and was very much on the back foot.

Hope he does well for himself though, met him briefly before his fight with Dan Blackwell on the undercard of a Kevin Mitchell bill (the night Bundu beat Purdy) and he's a likeable guy. Can see why he was snapped up by GoldenBoy, he's very marketable.

My last thought on this matter : Goldenboy signed Ogogo in a big deal after the Olympics. Schaeffer/ODLH obviously thought he wasn't a mediocre/average amateur. Who should I listen to : multi-millionaires Schaeffer and ODLH or some faceless guy on the web.
