How do you rate Danny Williams' career?

    I always thought he was over rated, but he was also rated highly.

    Thoughts please.

    Domestic, maybe fringe European contender at best. Hes over rated by most because of his win against Tyson, who was shot and had a bum Knee.

    I thought he was over rated before that because many said he had a special talent that was not fulfilled, but I think it was fulfilled well.

    Williams is one of the all time great domestic fighters.

    Had more 'heart' than skill. Danny achieved a lot of you take into consideration his focus issues and limitations, he never really wanted to be a fighter in the beginning, but did himself proud in the ring and could give anyone problems on his best night. I don't think he's overrated tbh. People praise him because he had massive courage and was a good servant to British boxing. He's also a great guy.

    For some reason I always thought danny had something special I dont know what but I just did. He was a good solid domestic heavyweight

    I personally believe his miraculous display against Potter and his heroic displays in other bouts such as the Klitschko bout and his Win over Tyson cloud peoples judgements on his career. Tyson tore his knee ligaments in previous round and was basically fighting on one leg, Danny still had to do a job on him and did it well but i like to point that out.

    A good puncher with balance (Fat legs and pigeon toe that affected him) and weight issues (fluctuating from light to ridiculous from bout to bout) aligned with fact he mentally couldn't handle the bigger fights when they came his way (Crying before bouts) and Freezing in certain fights.

    He had a good career could of taken of done better but had a limited skillset, He can sit back on a eventful and thrilling career. He just fell short at European level but that's no slight on what was a fantastic career to watch. I like the guy very humble lad and growing up watching him you just wish other heavy's had his courage.

    I would contest that. It was a meniscus tear which often is not a problem in the acute. Sometimes yes, but Tyson slowed no particular sign of a major problem after the injury occurred. He faded as expected.

    The most talented British Heavyweight since Lennox Lewis.

    He had fast hands, could bang, could box. As his career developed he lost some of his work ethic during preperation, so this is why his heart and courage is always talked about. But people forget how skillfull and talented Danny Williams was at times. I've never seen David Haye throw combinations like Danny Williams, also Danny Williams could fight out of two stance.........very talented.

    Hands Down...

    A prime Danny Williams would spark David Haye out.

    I remember the following week on the special replay on Sky. McGuigan stopped the tape and showed where it happened, and the following moments and you can see Tyson starts to fall apart. A fighter like Tyson needs his legs to be working fully more then others because he uses them for power, Dipping and shooting up and pivoting and i personally feel he fell apart because of that. I know what you mean though, Tyson is type of guy at that point once you weather storm he crumbles but he this was early into fight and that video showed me enough to say that it lost him fight.

    David Haye is a cagey counter puncher.....and at heavyweight, all he has done is run, and throw single shots, or maybe 1-2s.

    I think danny would have beat tyson that day whether his leg went or not, Tyson was finished before that night and would have tired early in the fight IMO.
