HHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA.... Spence has GGG as #2 p4p. So all the Mayweather fan/GGG haters now clinging to Errol need to reconize.
I dont think Floyd is a great judge of talent.Spence is strong, but thats it. Ive seen Spence be outboxed. Crawford is the real truth in terms of talent. I see spence dealing with most the welters, tough fight with thurman ahead, and Brook, if brook mans up!, Spence foot work is too slow, he gets hit, He isnt an educated hunter like GGG, he dont counter like Charlo, or bend at the waist like Andrade, He hasnt got the defense of Lara. Spence is powerful, thats all I see, he has good body punching, but, whats his plan b when that fails. I like Spence, but at 154lbs he gets moved, and at 160, GGG destroys all those that weigh in is division. he can dominate 147 if he beats thurman and brook, but if Crawford comes up, then boooy
I need to see Crawford at 147. I'm all for unifying a division but 147 is such a good division right now with decent fights to be made so I REALLY want Crawford to be in the mix there.
good post but crawford you have to remember is moving up from 135, and fought 132lb as an amateur spence fought most of his amateur days at 152lbs he's way too psychically big for crawford in my opinion
True, but only special talents like Floyd and Pacquiao can come up and whack bigger opponents, I think Crawford has that type of talent. For example Postol, is not flat footed, and he is taller, with bigger reach then Crawford. Crawford showed that he can work off angles with side by side movements, switching orthodox and south paw. Thats a difficult fight for a fighter who has slower footwork than Postol. (In truth, Spence should be a 154lbs fighter like Thurman and Porter, but they want the power advantage of draining.) Crawford power has gotten better as he moved up, I was shocked, he is KOing good opponents, I think if he fights Ricky burns again, he may stop him.
Why can't anybody make a comment without bringing up who is a fan of who or who hates who ? Arum saw Spence as too dangerous for Horn and Brooks and Khan wanting no part of him is no fib. How does that make somebody a sycophant of Mayweather or Golovokin hater ?
All of these flaws can be managed better by Spence if his attention is drawn to them. However, a few of these flaws seem to be deeply ingrained and will remain regardless, although they can be somewhat managed. I rate Spence, I think he can maybe prove to be the best WW today but I've seen him up against higher quality operators than himself in the ams. I think Crawford would beat him, though.
Brook wanting a better fight for him has more to do with not wanting to boil down to 147 for small $$$. Why would he try to cut all that weight simply to make one more defense of that title? Dan was mandatory to Alexander/Porter when Brook became the only fighter to actually beat Porter. Brook tried like hell to make a fight with Peterson after his win over MANDATORY Dan. Brook tried to make a fight with Khan after Dan. Brook needed an opponent, so he fought Gavin who was coming off a solid win over Skeete, and after fighting even with Bundu. Then came Frederick Lawson. The WW version of Kovalev and GGG. LMAO. JKJKJKJKJK.....but that's what the media and boxing fans were saying when he was mauling gatekeepers. Again.....the IBF thought they'd impose yet another mandaotry on Brook, but it backfired. Bizier exposed Lawson, and became the mandatory. Brook destroyed Bizier like no one had prior. Again, Brook looks for Khan, Crickets chirping. Peterson. Crickets chirping. Finally, WBO Champ, Jessie Vargas agrees to 3 mil to come to the UK for a unification. But Brexit happens and they pull out b/c the GBP changes the 3 mil US to about 1.4 mil US. So again....Brook loses the big name opponent for no reason of his own. So, the GBP rebounds, Chris Eubank Jr refuses the 3.5 million bucks, and Brook shows the wrought iron heuvos that not even Carl Froch could muster and he fights damn near even with GGG. So......why is it that Kell Brook, having beaten Alexanders/Porters (Dan) mandatory, but then his own (Bizier) in a timeframe of >2 yrs should be forced into yet another mandatory when he's not yet had the opportunity to have the big money voluntary or unification fight he's been after. And if he doesnt get a big money/and or unification fight at 147, he declared PRIOR to CEJ ducking GGG, and him manning up, that he'd be moving to 154. I still don't understand how the IBF gives every other titlist 18 months between mandatories, but for some reason, Kell Brook is supposed to line em up and beat em down every 12 or they they threaten to strip him. I like Spence, and aside from Brook, I think he's the top WW, and a future P4P star. But I think Brook is being unfairly burdened by being forced into mandatories as fast a new threat can rise.
Yeah I agree, he does seem to have a good ring IQ and 12 rounds favour a brain like his, but with that said, I don't think he has a very high ceiling, I see him as low tier HOF level in terms of H2H ability potentially, at best.
We will see him there sooner or later. He wouldn't be a big welterweight but he drains like crazy to make 140.
I'm not embarrassed at all. I take my interest in boxing semi-seriously and thus always eager to learn more. I'd take it completely seriously and try to be cutting edge if I were being paid at least something for it. This is my current limit.
Maybe you should try doing youtube breakdowns and then you'd get subscribers and then who knows what further down the line, if you have a passion for it.
To learn video editing and spend time making video content and analysing etc. would only be worth the effort if I'm directly earning money for it. Low level HOF fighters in terms of H2H ability include Jose Luis Castillo, Kostya Tszyu, Sergio Martinez, Carl Froch etc. They don't need to have HOF careers to be that level of fighter in terms of H2H ability (this is just the way I conceptualise this in my head, may not make sense to others). Someone like prime Donald Curry for example is High end ATG in terms of H2H ability but never went on to have a career which demonstrated that.
